Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just didn't bother to get any yet, since it's a race-only rig. At least for another week or so.

The only problem I can see with the picture you posted in that locked thread is that the Loctite is red all right, but the blue tube is a Perematex product. I thought Loctite came in red bottles whether the mixture inside it was blue or red.

<shrug shoulders>

Which is probably what Loctite would do it you complained to them.

...I have the offending tubes in my tool box, (in a plastic baggie because they often leak.) Maybe I grabbed the wrong photo off the internet, because of the time pressures involved with the deadline in that particular thread, but I can assure you that the auto parts store here sells the smallest tubes in blue (with a red label) for the red stuff, and vice versa.

It has puzzled me for a couple of years now. That, and why the sky is blue.

This is their threadlocker page:

Threadlockers from Loctite Products | Threadlocking / Mechanical Gasketing | Loctite Adhesives

I don't see a blue tube there.

I thought you lived in the city. Why do you have hay in your apartment?

Change both bottles; start with a few years of both having black labels with a portion in the color of the "stuff", then switch to whole-color matching a few years later.

Pretty bike. But, without Strava, did it really happen? We can't be certain.

I met someone at the bar during Trivia Tuesday who struck up a conversation with me because I was wearing my "I [picture of road bike] South Dakota" t-shirt. He has been a runner and cyclist for decades. From MO and currently living in up here in MN working at the nuke plant.

He also did the St Paul Classic ride that WhyFi and I did. He DID partake in a beer at the last rest stop. So, we were not the only ones with enough smarts to know enough to indulge.

So because I just sold a bike and my wheels never stop turning when it comes to bike building/dreaming: I'm going to take my wrecked Cannondale CAADX frame up to the shop and actually see if it's straight or not. If it is, I want to build it up and put a frame bag on the top tube and just ignore the carnage. I'm thinking build up my dynamo front hub again and put an alfine 11 speed hub in the rear and a single ring up front. Fenders, dynamo lights and no derailleurs to destroy with room for fat tires and even knobbies. Ultimate adventure bike.

So rpenmanparker we once had a back and forth about bibs vs NOT bibs (shorts) and you talked about using suspenders when wearing a suit, which I also preferred. I most recently used some suspenders for my halloween costume and now I find myself wearing them whenever I can hide them under a sweater. I think suspenders need to come back. Belts suck.
