I'm kinda hoping for some opportunities this winter. Snow and ice were pretty sparse here last winter.

You can have it. My hip was sore for like 3+ months after my mishap in February on a big ice patch (from runoff onto a road).

Bonus: no crashing because of patchy ice. ;)

...without intermittent road ice scares, how do you remain alert ? That sounds almost as boring as swimming laps. :(

dont NEED a PM either, they have power bands for most "dumb" trainers built into the program

Yeah, probably worth it. I have TR though already, not sure both are warranted. TR does a nice job of integrating Sufferfest video with power.

Not much of a fan of the virtual power thing (dumb trainer power curves) on Zwift. Pretty far from being accurate or even consistent... but I suppose better than nothing.

After work rides are done for the year. Weekdays will be done on the trainer and when nice weekends come along I'll get outside.

Better idea: skip work and ride during the week.

Totally schoolin' all the clydes and freds!!!!

I believe it's in my contract that I must finish ahead of the guy directly behind me (MaxPower jersey), or suffer extreme taunting in perpetuity. I don't know him personally, but he's apparently worked at several area shops. Everyone at the races knows him.

I'll ride outside, if it's not way below freezing with fairly clear roads. I just won't be on the Allez. Probably use the Frankenbike.

rjones28 11-02-15 03:51 PM

... or go snowshoeing.

It was nearly 60 degrees today. Forecast is for warmer days for the rest of the week. :)

I like that idea, but, I have to get Chain Dropper, Clown 1 and Clown 2 through college.

I think I'm going to swing by the LRS (Local Runner's Shop) on the way home and price out some entry level running shoes instead of my big box SSO's (Shoe Shaped Objects). Not that I think my Champion's are garbage; I just think I should find something more in line with my high arches so I don't snap my foot in half (or whatever it is that can happen...).

Or take off the morning and work a half day. Great way to sneak in a ride and not miss too much work, unless you have flexibility with your work. Since I get off from work at 3:30, I can get home and on the saddle by 4:15ish and get in about 1.5 hrs before sunset.

We're already looking at 5 PM sunsets here in MN.

Bummer. Guess it depends where you sit in the time zone.

I don't have that much flexibility. I already push it by leaving at 4:15 and with sunset now around 5:00 that doesn't leave much time.

The closer you are to the equator the longer the sunlight lasts and the warmer the temps.

The switch from DST this past weekend took away the evening daylight.

By the end of the month the sun will be setting as I get off work.

Yes. The point I was trying to make is although both in the Eastern Time zone, Boston sunset is at 4:35, whereas Indianapolis is 5:42, over an hour diff in the same time zone. East/West distance. The closer to the west edge of the time zone the later the sunset.

I get by with entry level Asics or NBs from the LSGS (Local Sporting goods shop) or DSO (Department Store Outlet).

Got my current Asics from the latter for $28

I'm in Texas and already the sun is setting at 5:30 after the time change.

I need to build up a wheel on my cheapo dyno hub again.
