I'm having rear derailuer shifting problems on my KK Road machine, shifting upwards is slow and sloppy like its having a hard time getting into bigger cogs, I take the bike off the trainer and with the same trainer tire skewer casset..everything I put it on the road for quick test ride and it shifts flawless time and time again...put it back on trainer and the same thing sloppy up shifting, can't figure it out, anyone else run across this problem? I don't think I'm over tightening anything and the derailuer is exact same position as it is off the trainer no warping etc..!?!?? I'm puzzled

Hmm, it might be because of the constant load on the drive train when on the trainer. Try letting of a little right before the shift and see if that helps.

Hmm you may have somthing, if I lean hard to the right against the upwards shift it just hangs in the cog and won't shift I soon as I lean to the left with the shift it pops in gear without a problem

Do you have the trainer locked on to the skewer tightly enough? If leaning makes it better/worse I can see having it not locked in enough causing flexing - the bike is a pretty big lever. I think a too loose skewer might make it worse, too, but I'm just guessing here.

+1. Shifting on the trainer is crap. I use a bike with fewer cogs a lot, since the solid indexing with 8 or fewer in back is hardly affected

Problem solved! The metal skewers that came with the KK road machine weren't tight enough, I guess you really gotta lock these suckers down, lot more pressure to close then my mavic ones I'm used to. Cranked em down and it shifts smooth on the trainer again
