Leg Shaving?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Leg Shaving?

Whats the reason for shaving the legs when biking? Do those tiny hairs really influence anything? Also, are shoe covers/Seals really ment to do anything but heat the foot under colder conditions?

The toe covers are for warmth...and a little more protection from water... and I think the main two reasons for shaving are easier to heal if you crash (road rash) and easier for massages. That said I haven't done it yet... Since I can wear shorts at work.. I would be brutalized...

I just shaved my mustache that I've had for about 20 years. When the guys at work asked about it, I told them I did it for improved wind resistance on my bike. It's not true, but it makes for a good story.

I do it mainly for looks. One side benefit is lots of curious girls rubbing your legs to check it out. Sold!
