Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

hey cool, i just added links to my new ride... well new to me.. but i went out yesterday on my schwinn peloton.. and the ride was pretty freaking nice.. the only thing i did not like was the 9sp dura ace, and with help of the new bike.. i will be able to do some parts swap and get some nice ultegra 10 on the peleton.. cool bikes folks, i wish some one would post some from the golden age of LS though.. before Bike Goup purchase. or what ever it was called.. i know the linskey is the same company but there was somthing about the 1990's litespeeds that just got me.. ever since seeing LA sheriffs team bikes in the domestic races.. i wish i could have gotten a classic or Ultimate from that era... but the vortex is nice too..

Sharpe eye SCUZZO!
The Ultimate was suppose to be from the 1994 LA Sheriff team. The frame supposed to have belonged to Steve Hegg. It had a Hegg sticker on the seat stay when I got the frame. The person I got if from included a 1994 LA sheriff program along with a receipt invoice to the law enforcement cycling Assn. I totally agreed that the lynsky era litespeeds are different. When you compare the finishing work on the frame it is just different, the fact they offer to have the entire frame polished to a chrome shine. (some people think the frame is chromed) Lynsky still offer the polished finish.

Litespeed Classic is another frame I am always on a look out for, the old lynsky frames still offer downtube shifter bosses if you want to go with a classic built.

another note on the ultimate built, a few years later I was able to get my hands on a polished 1" threadless litespeed stem in full polish finish. (whats on the built) I missed the component division at litespeed, some how a matching stem and post really solidifies the built. If I ever get my hands on a polished litespeed Ti post I will change that out o

When i have a chance I will up date the photo to its current state.
Full DA 7800 / Nokon cables / silver CK headset and BB/ American classic seat post/ new chrome fork so I am not so slammed.

Dont give up chasing the CLASSIC! it will come (dont compromise on the size tho)

Put some pics up when your ride comes in.

Yep, fantastic bikes, I have my 07/08 vortex coming next week, I'm done chasing litespeed for now, but I am thinking I want to go old school decal set, just as a nod to 90's LS. It was hard enough to get a great price on a 61cm, I could not bare the wait for a used classic 61cm dressed
In ace 10 in great condition, she has been a long time coming!

bump? i know i missed out on the hay day of titanium, technology has out stripped the wonders of the TI bike,, every thing now is faster rolling smoother ridings.. and all swoopy carbon and such... but for give.. every since i first started riding.. every since i saw my friends Ultimate in polish finish and dripping with campy chorus.. i have always liked the look of the old school litespeed.. the yellow script and the knight crest... now.. im sure the 2000 laters of the litespeed are fine bikes.. but their last design choice with the big utilitarian font and all business look.. just left me cold. i see what they were going for.. the no nonsense speed machine look... but i liked the quirky look of the 80s 90's and 2000's so thats why i started this thread... should have started it way back in 2000 or 1990s... but ... anyway... bump!!

This is mine. '01 Tuscany, Dura Ace 10-speed, 172.5 cranks, Ksyrium SL's. 57 cm (56.5 ett). Still a thing or two to do (like maybe insert some carbon stuff). I ride this thing about 100-150 mis weekly, very comfortable.

Heres my M3. Shimano 105 equipped. Fizik saddle and Easton bars. Actually thinking about selling. I've put about 400 miles on it and I rode my Defy again and fell in love. The Litespeed just is not as comfortable for me.
