Edge 520 Auto Data Uploads Connect Mobile App
How do I set my Edge 520 to automatically upload a ride to Garmin Connect?
For the first month that I owned my 520, my rides would be showing in my mobile connect app by the time I got into the house after a ride. Now I have to go the the 520, select the ride I just completed, and click "upload ride" before it will show on my mobile device. I've had a software update or two since I got it and I'm wondering if one of them changed the auto upload feature.
Thanks for any assistance.

I use the Edge 520 and it uploads using my phone. I would check the Bluetooth connection settings on your phone and in the phone app. That is how the 520 uploads the data. Be sure Bluetooth is enabled and paired on the 520. What version is the software on your 520? Version 5.30 was released on 4/14/16.

Are you using an iPhone?
I have an iPhone 6S Plus, and my bluetooth has been utter dogpoop since the latest iOS 9.3.1 update. The phone takes easily 4 to 5 times longer to connect to bluetooth devices now vs. previous software version.
Speaking specifically to your problem, ever since my iOS update my phone won't connect to the Edge 520 unless I open the Connect app, and no matter how many times I change the settings on the 520 or the Connect app, my 520 simply will. not. automatically. upload. I have to manually tell it to upload (and then it will).

I have an 810 and an Iphone so this may not be helpful, but thought I'd give it a shot. About a month ago I started having problems with the auto upload not working. Now I have to turn off the Garmin while leaving Iphone on, then turn the Garmin back on. Then it automatically uploads.

Thank you all for the suggestions.
Yesterday's ride did not auto upload but today's ride uploaded just fine. The only change I made between yesterday and today was that I found the setting for automatic uploads, toggled off then on again. I'm using the 5.3 software update and my bluetooth connections were working properly during the period when auto uploads were not functioning. I suspect it was related to the software update - but who knows. I have read a lot of online discussions about the Garmin products and complaints of problems following updates and other glitches are not unheard of. I'm not sure what really caused this but it was not a big deal.
