I asked her what is the difference between a band and a wind ensemble. She has no idea.

Concert was good. It was NOT a wind ensemble. Daughter 2 is in a wind ensemble. This one is a "Wind Symphony" and I have no idea what the difference is between a band, a wind ensemble, and a wind symphony.

TWolves got Thibs - post-season next year.

The Bears will be less bad this year. Otherwise, this is about right.

Thibs is nice. I like him and his no-nonsense approach. It's a dying way.

Johnny Football will land in prison.

Didn't he just get indicted? Prison maybe on the horizon, but at the least, Johnny is going to jail. There's no chance he can make it to trial without violating his bond conditions.

Matbe it's because I don't have kids (late-30s), maybe it's because I went to an SEC school and saw many people throw away football, basketball, baseball, etc. talent, but I think Ole Johnny is his own worst enemy.

Yeah, I didn't cry at all when he went off to college. I was over it by then. :D

Kid graduated to gears and brakes over the winter. I almost started a Does It Fit thread (but I bought it already, which is the BF Way). I took out the rear reflector to slam the post.

Yes, I believe he did. I believe it was for beating up his now ex-girlfriend.

He's had plenty of people try to help him. I sure can't name all of them, but, they include the Browns football organization, agents, PR people and I'm guessing his parents. I'm betting that part of the problem is that he has some hangers on who are enjoying the Johnny Football money train. When the money is gone, they will be as well.

If I was the judge in the new domestic violence case, I'd put him on monitored sobriety. That would end poorly, he'd end up back in custody, rinse repeat, and then you'd start to make some progress.

Isn't he on probation for some other transgression?

I'm guessing that a wind ensemble is a subset of a wind symphony, which in turn is a subset of a band.

Don't think so, actually. He voluntarily went into rehab, but he's under no legal obligation to stay sober for now, and hadn't been charged with anything prior to this DV case. Recently, I mean; there was a barroom brawl back in College Station.

Nah - I thought it was something more recent. Maybe I have him confused with another professional athlete...

The Bears had a nice draft. I'm happy with it. Hawks are done but the Cubs are fun as hell. I'm always happy to talk Bears.

My kid turned six and got a deck from mom and dad. Last night he and I started the 1300 piece Lego Falcon from my sister. That thing is bad ass.

The colors are right. Very cool.

I remember when I was pretty happy to make my Lego's go in shapes other than a square. Lego's are the new model, without the airplane glue.

My Dad and I built a "Visible V-8" when I was a kid. I'm happy to have survived.

I'm impressed with Elway, and his draft skills. Whether it's him, his advisors, or whatever, he knows his ****.

He tells Hoyer they're going with Sanchez as the starter and then he goes to the Bears. Northwestern guy in the mix, which is great.

Johnny Manziel indicted in alleged attack on ex-girlfriend

No - that's pending. It may have been someone else that violated probation. Or maybe the Browns put him under watch/team-probation.

I think the Browns cut him loose to free agency.

Brutal workout today. Was supposed to be a rest week coming up, but since I could give two craps about next Saturday's RR that they shortened by 36 miles, I get to extend the work for another ten days. The following weekend has a TT and a crit, and I would rather be up for those, than some 36 mile group ride that they will call a race.

Doug28450 05-01-16 05:01 PM

Good grief. Results of the triathlon are still not posted. At least that I can find.
