Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone use Praxis Zayante cranks?

https://www.praxiscycles.com/product/zayante-m30/

Looking for new cranks. I've read great reviews on the Praxis set. Bikeradar ranked them as the best crankset in their shoot out

Best road bike cranksets - BikeRadar USA

They are not very light for the price but maybe worth the trade off for shifting performance and stiffness. I am looking for something that is black and works well with Campy 10 speed drivetrain. I like the looks of Campy cranks but they are expensive, apparently flexy and have a ridiculous system that require tools that cost as much as the cranks to install and remove

IME nothing works well with campy but campy. The praxis crank is fine, but far heavier than campy, and shifts nowhere near as nicely.

Quit looking at power torque. The carbon Athena crank is nice but does require a puller (but how often do you really pull a crank?) and the chorus+ stuff is great. Pick up a used 10 speed record UT crank and enjoy the smoothest shifts on earth.

I had them on my bike before. The cranks that is. They worked well and looked good. Don't know about the chainrings, had C1s on.

Note that you also need their bottom bracket (and tool to install it.)

Does the Campy crank only require the puller to remove? meaning you can install with normal tools?

Btw my cranks (which I used for a few months) and the rings (brand new) are just sitting so if you want them, we can work out a deal. The cranks are 175s and the rings are 52-36 I think, will have to confirm. I also have the bottom bracket for both BB30 and for 68mm threaded.

No probs. I think they're pretty good cranks.

From what I have heard they are nice. Some of them cost more than a mid level bike so they better be good

Yes. Installing it needs only a standard cup spanner (if threaded) or bearing press (if press fit) for attaching it to the frame, same as anything else. The crank main bolt is a 14mm Allen bolt, if you don't have one they're cheap at an auto parts store. If you can wait a little while for availability the new potenza cranks use a self extracting bolt, so it can be removed without a puller. Hopefully it's compatible with older power torque parts and made available as a replacement part, but I doubt it. All ultra torque cranks are installed and removed with only a 10mm Allen key (except for cup installation)
