Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Need help with Stages power meter

edit: Nevermind, problem solved.

Hope this is the right place to post this, I figure there are lots of folks with Garmins and Stages power meters that look at this section and can help me out.

I need some help getting my new Stages power meter to work with my Garmin 520.

My power meter shows up on my Garmin as a sensor and I select it, yet nothing shows up on the Power and Cadence screens when I start riding. What am I missing here?

The firmware is updated on both devices and the Power Meter has a fresh battery.

Any advise/help appreciated.

Is the PM linked to your bike profile?

Good question, how do you check if it is/is not? Thanks

I have a 510 so the menus might be slightly different, but under Settings there should be a "Bike Profiles" menu. From there you can search for sensors and your Garmin should remember the PM every time you ride.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Like I said the powermeter is showing up as a sensor, I select it, and then I don't get any data reading from it when I start riding. I paired it with my iPhone on the Stages app on my ride today and was able to get power and cadence readings that way, so I do know the unit is not defective.
