Major issues with SRAM Red eTap front derailleur

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not sure which you've bought. It took me a while to track down somewhere with the SRAM one still in stock which has the extra grub screw to stop it getting pushed inwards. A random small shop in TN sorted me out after my initial purchase from random shop in NYC proved to be out of stock.

SRAM part # 00.7618.013.000

MANY MANY MANY THANKS for the reco on the chain catcher! I bought a SRAM Red FD, only because of these issues. Same problem. 9 out of 10 shifts, beautiful. And then it throws it. Apparently this is more common than I thought. The Amazon reviews of the catcher I bought said they had issues even with SRAM Red. Now that it's installed I can see how it will work, and how there's no room to drop the chain. True test is the next ride.
