You should really try some more indian stuff, IMO. About 1/3 of it is as you say (and that's what gringos like), IME. The rest is everything you say indian food is not. It's a big subcontinent, there's more variety there than you can imagine.
Dallas has a YUGE indian community. I could go to 5+ different indian restaurants and not see the same item on any of the large menus.

Speaking of mobile audio, I just bought a JBL Flip 4 portable microphone-speaker. My purpose is only for conducting teleconferences with a group around the table and using my cell phone. Worked great last week. I can see how great this little thing would be at the beach or on a picnic for music. Bluetooth connection to the phone. Looks like the boom box has come of age.

Pair them with something that allows for some DSP phase and alignment correction, and add some sound proofing to your vehicle.
