150 bucks per visit? That could become exhausting in short order.

It left me wondering how they arrive at your compensation. Volume?! Volume?! Volume?! Some other method, such as one with education achievement being one factor?

Very good points, all. I think this ad bears some further scrutiny!

Does this mean I can quit my day job now?

I remember Dr. Dean Edell* talking about being in med school and being paid to donate. Evidently it was a common thing for med students. Datlas?

*Dr. Dean, for you youngsters, was like Dr. Oz but in the 80s and 90s but with way less hype and more mainstream.

Well, you wouldn't want to tell your kid that they need to stay in school because their father never completed high school and he ended up filling jars for a living.

Our building just sent out a road closure update for the upcoming NFL draft festivities, complete with road closure maps. The height of the closures will last a full week. We are talking major arteries in and out of the heart of the business district. This could be worse than when the pope was here.

I'm glad that I live on the edge of a small metro area. I used to listen to Chicago radio quite a bit and I remember hearing frequently about gridlock when the president(s) or vice-president(s) came to the windy city.

What if the sperms got a GED and went to trade school?

Like the Pope's mass, the whole draft thing takes place near my house. I can walk to work, but the event perimeter will force me to change my route. And some of the road closures and going to funnel traffic through my 'hood. Nothing like trying to cross the street in front of impatient drivers late for work. Not sure I want to try to ride in those conditions, and I don't know if the closed roads outside the perimeter will be open to bikes. I will have to see how it plays out.

Things like this often cost local businesses money. When the Pope was here I was having a few beers at a local bar/restaurant that was inside the traffic-free zone near my house. The manager told me revenue was down 50% from a regular Friday night.

I've been trying to teach myself to eat enough on the bike.

I already eat plenty when I'm not riding. :o

I have never been to Philadelphia, so I ask: Why? Is there football stadium in the heart of downtown Philly?

Oh wait, it's just the draft? I thought it was the workouts and evaluations or something.

NYC hosts the draft frequently, right in the heart of Times Square. No disruptions required. :foo:

No. They are having it on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The ones made famous by "Rocky." There is also a lot of open space in front of the museum to accommodate large crowds. The Eagles' stadium is nowhere near downtown, where there is a high concentration of hotels, bars and restaurants. It's all about the Benjamins. Locals be damned. The number of entrants in the lottery for tickets to the "inner circle" of the festivities broke the previous record by multiples. Could be huge or could be a bust.
