RIP Nicky Hayden :(

It's now confirmed riding your bicycle is more dangerous than an entire career in MotoGP.

I think that I've previously mentioned how obsessive some Minnesotans can be about finding the closest available parking spot to the door of an establishment, but here's a great example: I just saw my neighbor, in full athleisure wear, no less, drive her car to a store that's literally across the street from us. She might have saved herself about 20 ft of walking.

Heh. The film "L.A. Story" mocks, among other things, the driving culture in L.A. One of the characters (may be Steve Martin's character) comes out of his house, gets in his car and drives one or two houses to visit a neighbor.

BTW...There is now a place near my office that is selling cheese curds.

Is that the one with SJP and her enema habit?

Is it being run by Minnesotans or by Wisconsinites?

Just popped in to post this. He was a class act, RIP. So very sad for his family.

Not even 10:30am here in LA and I've already made three people cry.

Yep.

This is the place:

Fox & Son Fancy Corn Dogs

Sounds like the cheese/curds come from a place called Birchrun Hills Farm, which I am sure datlas knows.

That's unique to there?

Huh. I'd give 'em a whirl, but it's weird that they have white curds for the poutine yet they're frying cheddar curds (in MN, it's almost always white curds).

I can only compare to NYC, where there's no such aversion to walking. Will some people in TN circle a lot for a minute or two or flip on their turn signal and wait for a car to vacate a spot, all to get 8 parking spots closer to the door?

I am happy to say I am not "that guy."

I think that's the case most places, sadly.

Personally, I usually follow the Parking By Design plans, and even more so with the GX.

I've been out riding so I apologize for getting into the "troll" discussion late.

Since I was promoted, I feel obligated to read forums that I've never read before and I feel that I have been getting a real education in snarkiness, crudeness, trolling, insulting, and just plain meanness.

Insulting someone isn't even an art form anymore, at least not in most of BF. In fact, it almost seems to be a requirement by some before they even attempt at posting a reasonable response. Even in some of the forums where one would think politeness would be the norm, there are people who start posts with an insult.

I applaud Bill and the rest of the Super-Mods for being able to read through some of this crap every day. It works on me and I just started. :)

I had to look that up - while I'm pretty sure that I get the gist, I'm not concerned enough to spend much time looking through the site. In short, I look for a spot that isn't a tight squeeze when centered between the lines and I prefer not to reverse in a lot, so I'll pull through to a spot the next aisle over, if possible/not too much trouble.

That happens everywhere I've ever driven. My dad taught me well, to my wife's dismay. Park in left field.

I'll let state obesity stats speak to the laziness here.

At least there you have a frostbite risk if you leave skin exposed to outdoor air for more than 30 seconds.

They won't give me that one, either, and that's fine. Can't even see it. Strong women scare the bejesus out of me. They'd eat me alive if I went in there.

Is there still a Women's forum?

No not fun but with all jobs you take the good with the bad, I guess. People need info from me, whether good or bad. they need to make informed decisions.
