Now that we've sprung forward, my evening rides will hopefully be devoid of all the shift change traffic. Apologies for bike relared content.

Oh and the Lexus always has the SmartKey system (no metal part to puncture the bag it goes in while running) while you have to spend as much as I did on the Lexus on the top-end 4Runner to get that. Oh and full-time 4WD instead of paying extra for push-button.

And since it's based on the 4Runner (or rather, both are based on the ROW Land Cruiser Prado) it has everything I was looking for from the 4Runner. The 4Runner is like the FJ Cruiser that grew up and went to college and is almost as athletic while not being a dude-bro; the GX is like the 4Runner that went to law school and put on a fantastic suit. While also becoming an Ironman and rock climber, even if still lacking just a touch of raw ability.

Also, unless you get the top-end 4Runner, the white it has is a very basic, no-effect, no-clear-coat white. The Lexus white is a nice clearcoated pearl.

Yes I'm gushing. This is my favorite car I've ever owned. :D:love:

12 mpg? Serious question; I've been gone a long time.

GCN Flanders Challenge was good. They tested the Wahoo Bolt, which allowed them to compare KOM in real time.

Matt: How did we do?
Simon: Let's not talk about it

Simon: Want to give me a lead out?
Matt: No
Simon: Oh ok. You want me to give you lead out? Uh.. alright.

They're hilarious.

When I hear someone is getting married? I ask, when is the divorce?

I too hate events of those type. I have no strategy to avoid them, the alternative consequences outweighs the suffering. I usually just use the events an excuse to force her to do something I want to do I know she doesn't.

I would definitely divorce anyone who listens to Dolly Parton and IMO is a valid grounds for any divorce!

Well, there are exceptions.

Probably not a problem you will have to face.

One clue: it sounds like something I could have said. Your comment on your wife suggests she may be oppositely-oriented. I was going to ask how you accommodate, but you kind of answer that here.

The point still stands that it 1) looks much worse and 2) is much less durable. After a few years in the sun it can start to smear off to the touch, and reacts very poorly to even gentle hand-washing. This, to me, makes it a total no-go for a car intended for long-term use, and when Mom got her Rav4 I told her to get any color she liked except white (so she went for silver).

No, you are more right in that it is a single stage paint with multi-functions which I had never heard of. I stand corrected. So I guess when they say the clear cost is mixed in, they mean the inhibitor ingredients. I wouldn't want that either. Toyota is notorious for it in the white for some reason.

I can hardly blame you. Lexus knows how to luxuriate. I normally wince when I hear about 8-cylinder and full-time 4WD, but kudos if that's how you can roll. I'm a 4Runner owner, but if I had it like that I'd be a GX guy too. :thumb:

Well with those attitudes, it's easy to see how parties never went well for you.

You have to know the real meaning of introvert. Not that a person can't or doesn't interact with other people. What it means is the interaction is tedious to the introvert. It drains their energy. When an extrovert interacts socially, it doesn't tire them out. It energizes them. I am a classic introvert. I like nothing better than to spend the evening alone like by myself in a hotel room. The meetings all day and entertaining customers at dinner were something I could do, but it really wore me out. I suspect, after seeing the movie, that Ray Kroc was exactly the opposite.

Solo business travel was a blessing for me. Nothing could have been more relaxing than to spend my evenings alone. Occasionally I would have a weekend in Europe by myself between work weeks. Oh man, that was sweet. Two days of talking to nobody, dealing with nobody. I loved it. Upon returning home, I would often need a little time to reacclimate to the family environment.

Right, but it is not a problem. We do things together and we do things separately. Over 53 years together since high school we have worked it out.

Oh puleeeze! That's not the conventional meaning of the term at all.

But you know me, I'm not going to spend time arguing about it. To each his own. :thumb:

Maybe I should sell 3 month, 6 month, and 12 month licenses.

@rpenmanparker is correct.

Another way to view it is in terms of over-stimulation. In social settings (especially with people you don't know very well), there's a lot going on to process/analyze. Eventually an introvert becomes mentally fatigued by it all and wants to go somewhere quiet.

I haven't used PayPal in 5+ years. I wonder if my account still works.

Oh good lord no. I mean, not great - like 18 combined. I don't drive much distance though, except when it's instead of a plane ticket. Seriously lots of 3-8 mile trips to the gym or grocery store. Then a few 1000 mile trips to Chattanooga or Boulder or the like.
