I thought of you on the ride today. I almost had to break the glass on the VV emergency gear.

How on earth do you get 27 trophies on one medium distance ride?

Can't have grapefruit. Interferes with the Lipitor. Don't get old.

Have I mentioned that I am not on any medications. Grapefruit are tasty.

You will be.

Maybe

Scarbo 04-16-17 08:10 PM

They don't pour anything like that in Deep Ellum, do they? Not that I recall, anyway. You're probably up off of Knox St. or thereabouts.

It's no wonder Texas has the best cardiac hospitals in the country. Not that I wouldn't eat that bacon, myself. :)

Scarbo 04-16-17 08:14 PM

So everybody in here is on Lipitor? I thought cycling was supposed to banish the possibility. This is in line with what I wrote in another thread. I'm making observations . . . .

At a guess, I'd say that it's the combination of a few things:

lots of segments, many overlapping (people don't make enough segments where you are, people make too many where I am)
legs felt pretty okay that day
I hadn't ridden some of those segments in that direction in a while and my fitness has improved in the meantime

Me neither. Grapefruit is maybe my favorite food. I like it so much I planted a grapefruit tree.

That's awesome dude, big win. Sometimes some coffee and a donut just works. If I keep tossing the kettelbell throughout the week I'll keep the cardio levels - won't do anything for my legs, but smash time on the bike the heart'll be on point. Andd maybe it'll somehow HELP the back out in the process.. never know, can always be hopeful right :D

I wish I could use coffee or ANY stimulant at this point. Been living without even caffeine for a couple of years now. Kind of a shock after 22 years of adderal.

Cardio is the best stimulant, though. Lasts longer.

Bacon! I thought it was fried plantain.

This is the main thing I'm getting at.

I never viewed Minnesota as a cycling hotbed, but compared to here it seems like the Netherlands.

Pretty much correct. If you have a tricked out tourer that's designed to carry loads over all sorts of roads it isn't going to be a nice svelte lightweight. It's going to be a bit of a porker.

I achieved a similar sort of built with a mid-eighties mountainbike. It wasn't heavy enough so I added a Sturmey-Archer combined dynohub and 90mm drum brake. It is not a light bike. It does ride not bad, it's just slow.

Nope. My cholesterol is so low that the doc was going to put me on mess to raise it.

Do,you carry tea making equipment in that seat bag? Or don't people take tea where you're from?

Serious question. There are a couple Scots on another board that have posted several pics of them resting and drinking tea with a kettle on a little stove. They aren't touring or anything; just taking a break. ;)

Tasty grapefruit...radically lower cholesterol...tasty grapefruit...radically lower cholesterol...damn, that's a really tough choice.

There is absolutely no great shame in being wrong.

Anyway, that's what I hear from other folks. Of course, there is no great honor either.

Tried a new recipe for the allegedly "best evah" Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Thanks. That zoo is really nice, and it's free.

I have a confession: I have never eaten an entire chocolate chip cookie. I don't like the taste of chocolate unless it's really sweet. Something like a Snickers bar is my limit. Got left out of a lot of cake eating at birthday parties when I was a kid.
