I had Chinese last night. I asked for very spicy, too. It wasn't either. It was 'meh,' but I wasn't in the mood to cook, so it still served the purpose.

IKR. You should look at Jeffrey City on Google Maps Street View. The town was incorporated in the 50s to be a base for uranium miners. The town started to go down hill after the crash of the uranium market around '81. There is almost nothing left there. If you head east on U.S. 287 you cross the continental divide at Muddy Gap but you would never know it unless you knew it because there is no type of climb that you would associate with crossing the divide.

Local cycling friend (who attempted the 24 -hour ride) has scheduled his Everesting attempt for the last weekend in April. LOL

I hate when you order food and ask for it to be very spicy and it's not. So sad!

Coach John did his Everesting on Lookout Mountain. Heathpack knows that thing, and he went up and down that little hill 23 times. 340K/17 hours.

Meyer lemons are wonderful. They have a very distinctive aroma.

I love to garden and against all odds I'm trying to grow a Meyer lemon dwarf up here in the high mountains. It's not going well. It's giving up the ghost despite my most heroic efforts. I made the mistake of actually putting it in the ground--I should have kept it in a pot.

Are you sure? I'd start a thread - Pot or Not.

+1 Can't take all the Phx heat, I think. However the absence of Phx humidity could sway my prejudices, I'd have to spend a couple of months there to know for sure.

So, who watched the Chinese GP this weekend? That Verstappen is a very exciting young talent, it's a pleasure to watch him in wet conditions. Hoping Red Bull's upgrade package for the Canadian GP is good enough to get him to the front with Ferrari/Merc.

Also, what camera should I buy?

i don't own one, but I've used one plenty: Canon 5D full frame. That pic I posted at the start of this thread was taken with one.

Today I am going to be a go to the park for lunch guy. :innocent:

How about Prescott, AZ? It's also at elevation. Very nice town.

Make sure you talk to the pigeons about what you're reading in the NYT and wear a crumpled fedora. Old man status unlocked.

My stepson is a professional chef. Doesn't go anywhere without his knives. As well, you should see all the other kitchen toys he has.

Just visited his place this weekend. It was interesting to confirm what I already knew, that all the fancy Japanese knife stuff is just hobbyist fare. Currently his main chef knife is a Henckel. What he does seem to get all hobbyist fanatical about is sharpening stones, he has a wide range of those.

Rittenhouse Square is a popular spot for both young and old, especially for lunch this time of year. Look up some Google Images of it.
