I'm terribly addicted to chocolate, and have to tip toe around it. Nutella and the like is out of the question. We have a street food here, that is a big, sweet crepe, buttered with Nutella and rolled up. Way too rich.

Happy birthday, Datlas.

Happy Birthday datlas!

Do you want a yellow chihuahua for your birthday? I happen to have an extra one lying around.

No microchip on the little dog I found this morning. No one seems to be looking for her. She is very overwhelmed and finds everything very scary. Our little Doglet can NOT stand it that this dog is in the house and does not want to play. She's slathering on the charm with every fiber of her being, but the chihuahua is like "WTF this world is scary, leave me alone".

Hmm I'm not sure where all this is going. Nowhere much so far.

I think I've seen one millennial with a Rolex or 'better'. I don't think this gen cares much for watches, if at all.

"Rolex or better" is a pretty snobbish way to differentiate whether or not someone cares for watches.

Happy bday to datlas and congrats to Heathpack on the new dog!

Some pretty nice bikes around $3k. :)

Anyway, I dislike hazelnuts and I think it has hazelnuts in it. Right?

Yes, it is ground hazelnuts in vegetable shortening and sugar with a little cocoa added. Frankly it is the sweet equivalent of Velveeta. Pure crap. But it is so widely loved, that kind of talk could get me tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail. Hey Biily, talk about processed food!

Suffice it to say that I won't touch it. And if I won't eat something, you know you shouldn't even consider it.

I will say that many competitors have entered the market from the major American food companies. They are based on hazelnuts or also almonds or peanuts. The peanut butter companies and Hershey for example. From what I can tell reading the labels the new products are far superior to the original. You should try them. .

So.

In essence, you are asserting that here we now have Americans trying to teach Italians how to eat?

Balderdash! Wait right there. I'm going for my bucket of tar and sack of chicken feathers. :crash:

You should have them in Italy. They don't do anything American-style deep dish there. A wonderfully buttered crepe with just a light coating of Nutella! Delizioso! :)

Finally resigned to her fate.

More blathering and absurdities on matters culinary. More Tejano pomposity.

Actually, I spend a bit of time in Texas. You're actually not far off the mark with that mesquite theory of yours. :)

We have a young couple staying with us for a few days. Both professional chefs, traveling through Mexico learning the cuisine. They're begging us to let them cook for us. We just had an excellent evening meal.

Scarbo 04-10-17 08:37 PM

What did they cook for you?
