They insist that it wouldn't be as good because it wouldn't be as creamy. But then again, I think people were wary of palm oil before the carcinogenic cancer scare. Whatevs. I'll keep a jar in the pantry and use it on the occasional toast or maybe a waffle. Just thinking about it, I don't think it would be very good baked into stuff. It's pretty perfect on warm toast. Everything in moderation, etc.

And the Walmart is already dreading losing him. I have been trying to look at it as a positive thing that he got a safety award a month after he arrived and has received two different "Happy to Help" pins: one for being awesome to the customers and the other for going to any lengths to help his co-workers. Also that when I was trying on glasses last week, the young lady said how much everyone appreciates him and will miss him and that the optical tech on Saturday said how sorry he was that he'd been unable to get LoP a position in the Vision Center and clarified whether he would, in fact, be heading to Arizona with me. Yes, he will. The plan is that I will try to get another Vista position- which attempt I'm currently engaged in- or will get a job in the for-profit sector. Lester will focus on completing his Associate's and making headway on his Bachelor's and in the meantime we'll be staying at his mom's place to save on rent. (At least two of the Vista positions pay your landlord some money directly and if I get a different job I'll insist on doing so myself so it's not like we'll be sponging.) Before we make the trip south, I'm hoping to visit my friends and family in Washington. I haven't been back in a year and I'm eager to see my mom and my kid and the people I left behind when I escaped from my Walmart.

I'm not sure how much weight I've gained since I moved to Wyoming but, after I'd been here six months, I finally broke down and bought larger pants. I said to myself "You're grumpy all the time and some of that may be due to your co-workers but it may also be due to your pants being too small in the waist now. You'll probably lose the weight but this is where you are right now so face facts, buy bigger pants, and cheer the hell up." I place some of the blame on less availability of nutritious food, the excessive amounts of carbs they fed us for lunch at the senior center, not being able to go places on a tandem, and drinking beer because everyone here does. I have to admit there were days when I was walking and the wind gusted to 50mph that I was almost grateful for the extra weight. I think some of it was padding the Universe knew I'd need to get through this winter- kind of like the protective coating of frost that keeps the ice cream fresh- and as soon as I get out here, a good bit of it will fall right the hell off cuz it's no longer necessary.

Gift given Bulova for me. I'd rather have a fit poop or an apple poop or a garmin poop so I can get some heart rate tracking and fitness steps etc.

I think I've seen one millennial with a Rolex or 'better'. I don't think this gen cares much for watches, if at all.

There is a fantastic wood-burning pizza oven place near us, they have a dessert pizza which is essentially a blank pizza crust baked and then, while still hot, slathered with nutella. Then sprinkled with a little confectioner's sugar. It's really good.

Commute home was interesting. I liked most of it, except the one part where some stupid cagers buzzed me at high speed. I think I will drive the Saturn to work tomorrow.

The first time that I ran across Nutella was in Italy in 2008. It was on the breakfast buffet in every hotel that we stayed in. The Italians seemed to like it enough.

I had an ultrasound on my thyroid at the hospital today and I had to walk by the physician parking again. I kept a sharp eye out for Saturns and I thought that I had found one but alas, it was in a handicapped parking space instead.

I should start a poll. Do you pronounce it nuh-tella or new-tella?

My hospital lot has a mix. One of the surgeons has that fancy BMW race car in blue. One of his partners has a Maserati, another has a Tesla. But most non-surgeons drive Toyota Camrys or Honda Accords or Civics.

It's just curry sauce on chicken breast and roasted new potatoes (OMG good), but it's dang tasty. Who says you need rice with curry??
