I believe so. They were preparing to open for the day when I was there.

I couldn't believe it either when my test came back high. I'm vegetarian too.

Lol - I couldn't figure out the identity of Barney Fife on Strava, but then I finally had the bright idea of zooming out on a ride map. I'm slow sometimes.

seedsbelize 04-17-17 06:32 AM

I sleep so much better when I ride in the evening.

And pink flamingos, and a red panda (which is not really a panda at all), etc., etc. etc.

That's bold. You are among some pretty sick dudes here. Physically, I mean. Of course, just physically.

Reciting my medication list at the doctor's office is all the evidence they need I am not yet slipping into dementia. If I can remember all that, they don't get too worried.

Once when I was in Mexico I had fried bananas and they were really good. Is that the same thing? I guess I could Google it, but I'd rather not. :p

I used to play indoor tennis back in Wilmington, DE in the '70s at 9:00 PM. Couldn't get to sleep until about 2:00 AM due to the stimulation.

Not exactly. Much firmer and starchier. The green ones aren't very sweet and the riper ones still aren't very sweet. Kinda makes you wonder...

Did you know that bananas are a non-reproducing hybrid and are, for the most part, genetically identical? The lack of genetic diversity is worrying because of blight and previous strains have been wiped out entirely. When people penman's age say that bananas of their youth were more tasty, they're not lying or suffering from memory clouded by nostalgia - they grew up on a different banana strain that was, by all accounts, better than what's currently available.

I'm here because I've always gotten along better with old people than with my own age group (not that they have gotten along better with me!). :D

So that must be why they use gobs of pesticides on bananas.

You passed me and didn't even wave? Typical.

For some reason (probably worrying about this job situation), I couldn't sleep last night. Maybe got 2 hours. I got out on the road by about 6:15 for a ride this morning, assuming I'd feel like crap from too much coffee and no sleep. I actually felt great. Funny how the body works sometimes.

My understanding is that the banana industry has a strain or two waiting in the wings, but that's about it at this point (and we've been on the current variety for decades), so yeah, they're rather protective.

Yeah. Some of my best rides have coincided with bad hangovers. I've even raced like that. Go figure. The human body is a mystery.

That would be the Cavendish (I love PBS!)?

Anyway, these fried bananas that I had in Mexico weren't terribly sweet now that I think about it. Maybe they were, indeed, plantains; but I'll never know now.

Except as soon as I post that, my back stars seizing up.

I had a little beer-induced slip/fall while in Thailand, landed with my lower back right on the lip of a step on a catamaran cruise. First world problems.

Still, it's been sore ever since, and maybe spending the whole ride in the drops wasn't so kind to my lumbar muscles. Time to do some stretching in an empty conference room.

That's how I attempt to figure it out. For the longest time, I figured Bill Odonnel mst be Billy D. Then I saw a pic of Billy D.
