¡Buenos días!

Yesterday we got up early and went to the mountain monastery of Montserrat.

We took a regular train to the base of the mountain...then waited a few minutes.

And then took a "rack train" halfway up the mountain to see the monastery and cathedral.

There are paths/stairs to the top, I wanted to do the whole thing but the kids crapped out early and I knew they were getting tired/bored, so after a few minutes more I turned around and headed back.

Later in the day I went on another group ride via meetup, this had more people (about a dozen) and thus felt more competitive. It was mostly good, the leader chose to do a gravel section which I don't care for, especially ups/downs in loose gravel.

Today we went to Park Güell, which is fantastic, but the kids got cranky in the heat so we did not stay long.

I just returned the Canyon to the shop, so sad!

Tomorrow we head to Tarragona. Happy solstice day to all!

I learned y'all something today.

In order to really understand what you said, however, it helps to know what the word Glomar actually means. That was the name of the ship the existence of which was being questioned. So that name has been applied to all cases of the use of the same language.

I had to look it up. :innocent:

Speaking of oddities like the Glomar response, my long-time employer had an interesting cultural idiosyncrasy regarding approval of proposals. No one ever said, "I approve..." or "I object..." to something. The culturally accepted response if you approved was, "I take no exception...." The question might have been raised as, "If no one takes exception,..."

About as lukewarm way of approving something as you could find.

Twice? Aren't you the lucky one. :twitchy:

Ahhh diplomacy. Had I only possessed some my career would have been a lot less bumpy.

Ya live and learn.

See, this is where a Gaudi would fit right in, rather than that fugly flat wall.

Yeah and it's no joke. Sometimes I still feel a little short of the energy I'm supposed to have, one reason I haven't resumed biking yet.

"I take no exception to that characterization of my marital status."

Sounds like a phrase in an audit report.

You sure it's the steel bike and not the socks that are responsible for the smiles/mile?

Good question. No, I am not sure. Might have to do some experimentation to determine what gives the highest average cruising spm.

Kudos on going complementary colors between kit/socks instead of matchy-matchy, btw.

Yep, that's what I'm talkin' about.

Like the kids, I can only tolerate so much site seeing.

Meetup is a great idea. Will have to try it next time.

You know what they say: Socks are the window to the soul.
