I think you're mistaken. It was no ordinary spoke. It was a special spoke. A custom spoke. A bespoke spoke.

No. Tbh, even when I knew it was like that I still couldn't feel a thing. I could hear the brake rub when going super slow, otherwise nothing.

They did. Should they have installed it for free? I bought the part from them after all, for much more than the street price.

So, about $20. They did it while you waited. Ten minutes 'til closing. You totally got hosed. ;)

I'll take any other program on public radio over Car Talk. What a facepalm.

Also, I found a paycheck from 1992 along the road.

I'm laying on my heating pad... with the AC on.

Craziness.

Yes!!! The https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/72x72/1f1e8-1f1e6.png #StanleyCuphttps://abs.twimg.com/hashflags/Stan...ycup_Emoji.png drought is extended for another year! Possibly the greatest streak in sports.

Yes, but I quit listening to PHC when Keillor decided his audience should hear his sophist political opinions.

My parents might as well have welded the dial to NPR when I was growing up. Now I can't stand that faux-intimate whisper into the microphone sound.

Oh man... that same sort of voice has been adopted by the free-to-air television voice-over talent for program promotions. The low, monotone, whisper-like dramatic voice... OK for a while, but after two or three years, it has become a turnoff.

It is way, way too early for a spoken word performance from you.

It's cold. But it wasn't raining.

I must be of your parents' generation. I can't stand it either, but the bulk of my generation, in my circle of view, still has it welded there. Habit. I always think of the Schwetty balls episode on SNL.

For the record, I didn't mean to bash NPR, just GK and PHC and that's just my 2¢

I meant to bash NPR

Far, far worse, on a scale all its own, was the Mother Earth News' attempt at a radio show, also on NPR. I gag just remembering it.

Jadesfire 05-26-17 06:05 AM

For a few years I (by choice) did not have a television. On Sunday mornings when I didn't have to work, I'd enjoy my two cups of coffee with the radio on, and would often find myself on the shores of Lake Woebegone, and I'd stick around for Car Talk, which I grew up with as my mom was a fan while it was on the air. But it could get to be too much. I agree especially with disliking that low voice.

Also, my weed eater is evidently on permanent strike. I think it needs a new spark plug (again). :(

seedsbelize 05-26-17 06:17 AM

I was on my own strike against weedeaters for many years. They just weren't worth the effort of trying to keep them going. When we moved to our country place, where we are now, I bought a Stihl fs085. It's performed flawlessly for its first year.

And here I was going to celebrate your Predators' success this year -- getting into the final. Meanie. I shall now support Pittsburgh out of spite.
