Probably something to look forward to.

That is already SOP for most veterinary specialists. It's been tracked my entire career. The way it works is that there's a mathematical formula that determines what I'm entitled to in total compensation and what I can expect for support staff and equipment. It's all based on how many $ I personally bring into the practice. X% of my total production goes to me personally, Y% pays for my staff and equipment and Z% goes to the practice. These are all negotiated percentages and it's the most important thing in my contract.

Nothing will change there except the corporation will likely exclude more & more things that I get production credit for now, which will erode my pay. The impact on my bottom line depends on exactly what they do over time. We shall see. You push back where you can.

The flip side is that to them I am a money making cog. If things ain't broke, don't fix them. Fortunately we were sold to a corporation who understands this, so the legit might not change anything if the practice is profitable enough.

The problem is they always want to squeeze. Ask me how I know.

But apart from that, tell us more about the why and wherefore of sharing the whiskey with CC. You have piqued my interest.

So Sam is gone?
I went to a beer and wine bar to see him play. He didn't know they didn't serve liquor, and mentioned it while standing next to me at the bar. I had the pint in my back pocket.

The bigwigs where I work are constantly yanking funding from us, despite the immense profitability of our group, because they want an even bigger margin.

I'm sure you're weren't seriously asking, of course.

I figured you had first-hand experience.

Colorado Addictionites, if one wanted to move to Denver area, which areas would be worthwhile and which ones should one avoid?

In my experience it's never "enough". However much you (or your division) is making, there's always the assumption that if they start cutting, the margins will be higher. This is especially pernicious when the cutting removes people with lots of experience, the pain of which is not felt for years but the "savings" are immediate (if only immediate).

But hey, I'm dug in like a tick. If they get rid of me I'd get almost half a year of severance, so they can go ahead and cut and I'll keep punching the clock. It's still one of the last stable corporate office jobs, apparently.

Worst of all is an annual, fixed percentage reduction. It totally ignores the idea that there is a necessary minimum. And such a plan ignores the need to check when that minimum has been reached. Pernicious indeed.

There isn't really a terrible area. Depending on what the plan is, is where I would start looking. The traffic here is getting monumentally bad, and the roads are even worse. Bring a wheelbarrow full of cash, because no homes are cheap, and rent is even worse.

First!

seedsbelize 05-19-17 04:25 AM

I am coming down with a cold, no doubt related to the change of climate and the added stress. Hopefully I will continue to be able to function, with the addition of a dose of cold medicine every few hours.
