Lakehouse for memorial day. Bringing the mountain bike, I'm told there are some trails around there, a pontoon boat, and a margarita machine. Ought be a decent weekend.

It won't help.

Statistically a Canadian team should win once every five years. Instead, we're at 24 and counting. :roflmao2:

OK sounds good.

Both.

I just think it's funny they await disappointedly.

I have issues.

The problem isn't the voices. Who wants to hear people talk about car problems from seven years ago?

Interesting. My Zeiss 35-70 has a macro mode at 35mm (it's not true 1:1 macro, more like 1:2), which is pretty unusual, so to have 1:1 at 15mm is pretty wild; it is fun to get huge magnification coupled with a wide FoV.

The shift functionality is nice with a WA/UWA if you're going to have some architectural elements in the frame.

Nevermind architecture, take a look at this and some of the others on this guy's Flickr. Not hotlinking as it's not mine, but click through and be amazed; they're truly images you cannot get otherwise:

Yup - cool stuff. It'd be interesting if he hadn't stripped the EXIF from them; some, like the one you posted, don't look like 15mm (unless it's a thumbnail-sized toad), so I wonder if it's on a crop body or been significantly cropped. The spider on the boot is awesome as is the beetle on the blossom.

Also, some of these working distances have to be insane. Like inside-the-lens-hood insane.

The problem with three day weekends is the amount of work that then needs to be done in the four days following it :(.

Hannah is taking her driver's test today. Fingers crossed that she passes. Before anyone asks, she is NOT taking the Saturn.

No EXIF that you'd be interested in - the lens is dumb. MF, MA, no data communicated. I'll see if I can find out what body it was on.

Oh, I did the tire last night. All of the sanders were crap. The HF one was not stable enough to use, and didn't take material off very fast. The hand sander sucked even worse. The rubber on modern tires is just way too tough for a sander to be practical.

The Schwalbe Tread Cutters worked well, but it took a long time.

Still can't ride the bike. Shop has the warranty parts in, they're just booked up until Monday :(

He's 1/64 Canadian, so there's that.

Woohoo! I broke 15 for average speed today. Almost a serious cyclist again.

Danke.

Much better ride than yesterday's commute, wherein I took a shortcut via a dirt road paved with goat's heads and double flatted.
