Thread idea: "What average speed to I need to be considered a serious cyclist?"

Dooo eeeet!!!

Oh, I did the tire last night. All of the sanders were crap. The HF one was not stable enough to use, and didn't take material off very fast. The hand sander sucked even worse. The rubber on modern tires is just way too tough for a sander to be practical.

The Schwalbe Tread Cutters worked well, but it took a long time.

Still can't ride the bike. Shop has the warranty parts in, they're just booked up until Monday :(

Maybe you just had the wrong paper...

I failed the first time on the closed course the S.P. barracks in Fairmount Park. My mother took her test on the same course and crashed her car badly enough that it had to be towed.

It has been a while since I've started a thread, let alone my own thread that would make me roll my eyes! :)

Ooof!

I rode by the aftermath of a wreck involving a student driver the other day.

We live like 2 miles from the test center in Frazer, but apparently it's a 3-4 month wait to get a slot there. She had to go all the way to Lancaster. Fingers crossed she passes.

That's pretty much all of my 'alone' rides. The club bit is not me fearing that I'm going to get dropped - but rather not knowing my way back if i do...

Red 3" by 10 Yds Hook & Loop Sandpaper Roll, 36 Grit.

Not much different than the 40 grit I was using with the hand sander...

WTH? Back in the day it was first come, first served at the barracks. People started lining up early on Saturday mornings.

There should be a fingers crossed emoticon.

Very mixed feelings about that one. She passes...she fails...she passes...she fails. You'd think there would be one positive outcome. ;)

Do you know if they allow people there who have no musical ability? I want to become a conservator.

Yes they changed so now you need an appointment, which is made online. :50:

People tell me that they want their kid to get their license so they can drive themselves to places....but once that happens you start to worry more about them because you are never sure where they are!

Velo Vol 05-26-17 12:36 PM

They just repaved a section of road adding a "bike lane" (basically just painting a line a couple feet from the edge), except in this area the "bike lane" switches from one side of the road to the other.

Oh well, at least they tried.

Isn't there a mobile phone spy app?

Btw while I was getting ripped off in the LBS I was checking the bikes out. The Cannondale Slate looks cool. Love the fat slicks, they look like motorcycle tires. Seems like a completely useledd bike tbh, but looks fun.

Prolly. But do you really want to stalk your kids?

We did survive.

I bought Irish a real green dress for her birthday. Is that cruel?

Do you trust that you and your wife did a good job of getting their heads on straight? If so, take a deep breath; they're probably fine. If not, it's too late, so take a breath anyway because it won't get better if they wait a few more years to get their licenses. And that would mean they'll tend to get driven around by their friends instead, whose upbringing you know less about.

N/A

I have my hands full keeping track of a senior cat.

datlas 05-26-17 01:40 PM

Uh oh. Intel states Hannah did NOT pass her exam. There will be shedding of tears, I am sure.

Bummer. My driving test was ridiculously easy. Basically just drove around a few light-traffic blocks.
