Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I see the 2017 CAAD12 105 models are going for $1,400.00, which even seems like a good deal.

Maybe the OP was referencing a 10 speed version or perhaps an older model.

^^ CAAD12 first came out for 2016 selling season (announced 2015) so you can rule out a 10s version.

No Its a 2017 Ultegra. In fact I found another dealer offering the same price (actually $9 more $1409) .. Guess they want to make room for new models.

In any case I took a test ride and while I liked the bike I have a sentimental attachment to my Lotus... And maybe I am not sophisticated enough of a rider yet to appreciate the differences. I do know that I have 1400 more in my pocket. I decided to hold off until I have some more seat time. I rather pay a little more and be sure of what I want.
