Wahoo Bolt not uploading to Strava

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wahoo Bolt not uploading to Strava

First ride with my Bolt today and it's an awesome unit. Really happy so far however, it didn't upload to my Strava account even though the accounts are linked and it says it did when attempting to send it manually through the Wahoo Fitness app.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure you are connected to wifi and bluetooth, mine won't sync the rides unless it is paired with the phone and connected to wifi.

So the app on your phone says it uploaded? You selected Results, selected the ride, and then if you select sharing it shows a tick next to Strava? Have you linked up with anything else like RideWithGPS?

You don't need WiFi, only data for the phone. When you save a ride, the device essentially goes looking for the phone app. Thus you might need to close and restart the app. Then the device will dump to the phone, with the phone then sending via a cell data connection to whatever 3rd party online program you use, Strava, RWPS, etc...

If the device finds a WiFi connection to whatever WiFi router you've established, it'll send directly as well as to the phone app.

Yeah it's weird. It uploaded to Training Peaks correctly yesterday. Then I see today that it finally uploaded to Strava, but it dated yesterday's ride from Sept 9th, when it should have been the 16th. Very weird. It also didn't record any elevation gain, even though it's clear that I had some.

Is your Strava account linked to Gmail or a Google+ account? In my experience with Wahoo Fitness, it will transfer data only to my alternate Strava account (linked to an older AOL email account).

My attempts to transfer data from Wahoo Fitness to my other Strava account using a Gmail address is rejected by Google, although it includes an opaque explanation for the rejection -- something about Wahoo Fitness being accepted only through a browser rather than directly from the app. No such problems with Cyclemeter. Presumably Abvio (the company that produces Cyclemeter) has met Google's requirements for apps, and Wahoo has not.

I've been having trouble getting Elemnt Bolt to upload to Strava too. My workaround is to power down/restart my cell phone and then reconnect via bluetooth with the ELEMENT app. It will then upload. Try rebooting your phone.
