Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Answered in the post right above yours. Distance from top of saddle to the seat post clamp is around 18cm. My exact inseam is 34.125", so you'll probably be 1cm lower.

Oops dur, sorry my bad didn't see!
Thanks that helps. 765 is exactly what I'm at too - recently confirmed by a fitter and various trial and error over the years.

Yes, you must be gumby to be comfortable on a 54cm CAAD12 but you are also riding cramped even with 120mm stem. Frame size isn't just about head tube height establishing drop but top tube length as well. For a taller rider like yourself who is comfortable with the drop of a 54, your effective torso length becomes longer because you are riding more slammed and why a 56 is going to be a 'generally' better target size.

What matters is you are happy with the frame size you have chosen. All that matters.
Cheers.
Didn't realize it was a joke, sorry.

As far as my set-up is concerned, I ride an H1 Emonda so it is longer/lower than a CAAD12 by a good margin. 390/526mm vs 387/551mm, same head angle. Using a bit of ****math, this means my Emonda is 10mm longer with the same 110mm -6deg stem.

simply making the footnote that most that are 5'11" with your inseam wouldn't consider a 54 because riding position with needed long stem ...would be too aggressive due to short head tube. But you mentioned you are like gumby which is a big game changer for fit. I have ridden with women and a rare man that can keep their chest flat on the top tube for a century. Many pros can ride flat backed for a hundred miles as well...and some elite amateurs. These are rare people and most need a taller head tube for comfort.
This is why suggesting a frame size on the internet is really a flawed practice. Flexibility range is easily worth a frame size or more....or whether an endurance versus race geometry is preferred.

CAAD12 runs a bit taller than my CAAD9. At 5'6", I ride a 52cm CAAD9. I think I would probably have to go with a 50 on the CAAD12.
