Oh and funnily enough, inland Kona is strongly reminiscent of west Texas.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Depends how you feel about West Texas.

It’s really just a surprising thing. I had pictured it as a combination of lush and lava rock. It turns out that much of it is scrub, and driving an hour to get to a lunch place out of Kailua was a lot like driving to Lubbock, except for the elevation change.

On the very positive side, the food here in general is amazing. Because it’s an island everything (well lots of it) is local. Local grass-fed beef, the freshest fish, free-range chickens, goats, and so on. Heck, the restaurant had an herb garden surrounding the outdoor seating area and you could watch them harvest the thyme and rosemary and basil and so on that they used.

We grow rosemary, thyme, oregano and sage. Rosemary is really easy, a hardy, tough plant.

No kids ever come to our place.

It's uphill.

The bent one is right next to the missing one, but it's REALLY hard to photograph.

That's a bummer.

I was expecting entire cogs separated from the wheel.

Dumpster fire indeed.

Some tire and rim combos are harder than others.

My weekend was spent in the Orlando, FL area. Wife says it’s our last time visiting here.

We’ve been to central Florida enough times that the luster, if there ever was any, has warn off.

Anyway, had a couple rides, short due to the heat, and a couple more this week until the weekend where we go to the Villages for the Florida Tandem Rally.

Geez, Bah Humbug - the Gints can't even get tanking right.

5527 miles year to date. Thinner. Very motivated. One. Day. At. A. Time. Trying to get under 180lbs by Thanksgiving, I don't think that's going to be a problem. But how would I know? I don't weigh myself. Bathroom scales are the unblinking Eye of God, I won't go there.

But I am getting there. Oh yes.

More importantly I'm getting better on lectric guitar yo.

patentcad 10-16-17 05:13 AM

Oh yeah my race weight 6-11 years back was generally 170-180. I was under 170 for portions of my career, but never for long. However going into my 60s my ultimate goal is to try to get down as close to 170 (or under) if at all possible.

Probably unpossible of course. Hey they say that about lots of things. Sure they're usually right, but not always.

Do you guys think I should start a Pcad Motivational Speaking Tour?

Agreed, but we find that after a few years it starts to die off in big sections until nothing is left. What is that about?

What is the specific issue with them?

You guys would like my new song. It's going over well. The melody hooks like a MLB spiltter.

For the Love of You
words and music by Peter Cotsis

I was in the yard last night and it
It felt like Fall to me
It was colder than any August night
Had any right to be

September summer days they can be
The nicest ones of all
It seems ironic how they come
On the very edge of Fall

With you here beside me
It’s a safer place that I can hold onto
To tell the truth the last three years
Were so damn hard that I almost fell through
And I surely would have too
But for the love of you
For the love of you

The news about Mom it came to me
On a warm September morn
It made me feel all numb inside
Like a calm before the storm

Those angry words I said to you
I’m sorry baby they just came out wrong
I’m afraid to tell just how all alone I feel sometimes
It’s been that way for just so god damn long
So I’m writing you this song
And it’s way long overdue
And it’s for the love of you
For the love of you

I was in our bed last night
And it felt like love to me
I whispered to the Lord above
If you’re up there let Mom see
My Filomena getting me
Oh through another night
And that her boy’s alright
And how that’s only true
Just for the love of you
For the love of you
For the love of you

For the love of you

Only if you do it in the style of Chris Farley's "Matt Foley," living in a VAN down by the RIVER!

I don't have a van or a river.
