What you're not grasping is that they're not dirt roads with pebbles. If they were, they wouldn't last long - there'd be no structural integrity. Take a pickaxe to one of these "dirt roads" and you'll turn up a mix of compacted aggregate several inches deep. You posted a pic of 1" - 1.5" sifted crushed stone - the majority of the volume of these "dirt roads" is comprised of aggregate that size, and often larger, but it's compressed and locked in place with smaller stone and stone dust. Why would someone in their right mind intentionally engineer a road surface with a 2"-3" thick top layer that's constantly shifting under load?

Which team has the better phamacist?

For the most part, they got drugs out of baseball. They juice the ball now for more home runs. Unfortunately the general public needs home runs for the game to be interesting. A 1-0 pitchers duel is epic if you have an attention span, an understanding of the game and some intellect. YMMV

Yeah that’s D1++ gravel road.

It's a different world out on the gravel. Peaceful and serene. I, personally, don't need nudging to go ride that. I also like camping and hiking in the woods...

Like the legendary 1991 Game 7, 10-inning complete game shut-out thrown by Jack Morris? Agree.

Light rain, coming from the South. And apparently heavier rain last night. The pool is up an inch. It's coming.... Oh, and internet speed is practically nil.

Funny. I stopped watching it because of John Madden.

Well to each his own, but Jon Gruden is a hack compared to Madden. They shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same paragraph.

+1. I have been incorporating more and more unpaved roads into my trips. Riding one of those roads I posted a photo of was an amazing experience the last time. (Had done it twice before.) There was a cooling breeze rustling through the grasses as the smattering of clouds floated by. The only other sounds I could hear were those of buzzing insects and chirping birds. I stayed there for some 15 minutes soaking it all in. I didn't want to leave.

So that would be the D2 category, depending on the predominance of the stones on the surface. :thumb:

With the correct bike setup it's not really much different than riding paved roads. Just a bit slower.

I'm not sure why they do it, but apparently they do.

It doesn't matter what's below the surface. Paved roads have gravel/crushed stones underneath the asphalt as well, but you're not going to call that a gravel road. If it's predominately dirt on the surface accompanied by a smattering of small pebbles, most people in their right mind would call it a dirt road.

Probably not anymore. Just get us bike stuff. Send it to my office not home...

I like hiking in the woods. However camping and mosquitos, sans hot water and electricity doesn't do it for me . . . I'm a city boy to the core, there's tons of other things to enjoy. :lol:
