Oh also, is it normal for Reynolds wheels to have I9 Torch hubs? Because that’s really cool. I hate every wheel OEM using their own hubs, or rebranded ones, with different spacing so you can’t just tune the derailleur once and be done.

I broke a nipple today and plan to replace it myself.
Is there anything specific to look for to match the existing nipple? Alloy, black, fits 2mm spoke, size B spoke wrench compatible. What else? |

edited to add: I see Reynolds logos on I9's carbon wheelset offerings - maybe it's a new-ish partnership. |

How to buy the right replacement nipple.
I noticed 14 and 15 ga, not sure if that translates to a 2mm spoke and same size wrench. Easton ea90 slx from 2011. Straight pull CX-Rays, brass nipples, and it won't happen again. Otherwise, this will be a constant battle. |

Doesn't that happen everywhere? It happens in California, where there are plenty of cyclists.

Funny, I just assumed he broke it with his spoke wrench, not while riding. Maybe not, huh?

14 gauge is 2mm and 15 gauge is 1.8mm. I think Easton used Sapim double butted spokes on those wheels. They're a lightweight wheelset, so maybe a 12mm long nipple.

He should check the nipple length. Different lengths don't play well together.

I don't know who made mine, but they are straight-pull and have a Reynolds logo on them - I don't see any straight-pull on the I9 lineup.
