You and me. I have no idea how to spec a disc bike.

Kudos!

Since I'm in need, I tried a used 105 FD. Denied.

Unless something has changed recently, the 99s are their best rotors. IIRC, all of the IceTech rotors have the sandwiched steel/aluminum/steel rotors for heat distribution/dissipation, but the 99s add the cooling fins to shed even more heat (and look cooler).

Edited to add: oh, as far as rotor size, just double check with the spec on your frame - 160f/140r is pretty common, though.

Heavy, wind-swept rain.

The Tiagra spec'd bike uses TRP Spyre brakes with 160mm rotors, front and back. Stupid question I know, but I assume a 140mm rotor will fit for the rear?

Does that bike have an adaptor/spacer on the rear caliper mount?

My Fuji came with 160 front and rear. The rear caliper had a 20mm adaptor. To go from 160mm rotors to 140mm rotors, I simply removed the 20mm adaptor.

I have an interview next Wednesday at a small CPA office and I was checking out the website. The owner mentions running, swimming, and cycling in their bio so I did some googling and he had some impressive times at some running and triathlon events in the last 10-15 years. Nothing recent that I can find though.

Hmm, found a 2014 triathlon result and I think I might be able to take him down.

Now I remember - his frame has mount points for a caliper bridge/adapter; it's an arrangement that I haven't seen before, but maybe you're familiar with.

Here's the mount points on the frame -

And here's what the caliper and bridge-thingie look like -

If that's a 160 in the pic, I dunno if he's going to have room to move in another 20mm, but you'd know better.

Should only have to move 10, theoretically

Better hurry, it's getting a bit chilly for triathlons, isn't it?

I don't know. Swimming is stupid.
