Extra credit for the crash dummy tape.

This, now. Though the competent part is more difficult than it should be.

I demanded a raise out of my first accounting job out of school after I had replaced my boss for a pittance. The owner said to give her 6 months. I didn't get a raise 6 months later so I found another position elsewhere. The new job paid 140% what the old job paid.

Why did old school accountants wear those visors?

Solution: Work more accounts to fill the gap.

Ouch. That's bull****, right there. As a salesperson, I'd rather they cut my base pay than the commission. You're paid commission on the business you bring in and, as such, commission is the incentive to bust your ass and bring in more biz - you don't mess with that. Cutting such a huge chunk out of the business that's brought through the door makes me think that there's something wrong with their pricing/margins. I'd take it as a huge red flag.

Most would call me anti-social and they wouldn't be wrong.

Understatement.

A quick shout out to this thread. Addiction delivers.

Thanks to rjones and WhyFi for their help in building the Cinelli. They were right on - fork is post mount and rear is IS mount that needs the adapter linked by rjones. Confirmed by Ubikes this morning where I promptly ordered a mid compact Praxis Zayante and BB. I'd still be waiting around for Potenza if WhyFi hadn't told me it won't work. It begins.

:thumb:

Look forward to seeing it built up - it's going to be hot.

Those Praxis cranksets look nice. I thought about slapping one on the Haanjo, but I'm kinda hot-to-trot on getting a Power2Max (with Praxis rings) some time in the near future.

Still need to sell me on some hot rod aero wheelset for the canyon. Gonna be ~30% more difficult after today though :D

Well, it sounds almost unanimous today that if you're employed and hanging around addiction all day you hate your job.

There are others that I'm sure don't fit that, but they have been quiet today (probably busy doing the job they enjoy). Hmmm.

My bike forums usage spikes usually around 2-3 months before I'm at a new job. LOL.

Guilty. I'm here, but completely checked out.

I have a good feeling about the little CPA firm I'm meeting in person at next week. He worked at the same firm I did before he struck out on his own. He's a cyclist and runner. He already said I'd be a great fit for the office with my experience since I could hit the ground running.

The only drawbacks are I'd be back to crappy tax season hours (not as bad though since it's a small office) and the commute is going to be hell. I think only WhyFi can imagine it, but I'd be driving down 494 from Eagan(ish) MN to the other side of 35W in Bloomington. On the plus side they'd be flexible on the hours I work so I could schedule myself around rush hour at least.

topslop1 10-10-17 02:46 PM

I thought I was the only hopper around here, ha. Actually probably been on these forums for 3-4 years now so it makes sense to go through a couple of moves.
