I’ve got chronic tennis elbow from holding down the mouse button while gaming. It all started with Far Cry 1 where you had to hold down a mouse button to crawl around and you had to do it a lot.
It disappears in the summer and returns in the winter when I start gaming again. It’s beginning to ache already this fall.

I used to game harddd. Still get a few hours a week in for sure. No problems with those things. Ask me about my hips from 4 years of contact sports and a car accident though...

I am SO looking forward to vacation, between the boat stuff and some very trying clients lately...
I see a dog for a neck problem. I need a special MRI done, refer the dog out. Owner wants to go to a place closer to his house. I tell him no, they won't do the study I need. Its a moot point anyway, it turns out, because the guy borrowed money for the dog's care but spent it on Lasik surgery for himself. Then he asks me for a discount.
A month goes by and the guy goes to the place closer to his house and gets an MRI study done that doesn't give me the information I need. Three days later, the 200 pound Great Dane becomes unable to walk in all 4 limbs. He shows up on my door with the non-diagnostic MRI study and goes ape**** when I tell him its non-diagnostic. He is demanding I perform surgery on his dog. I basically tell him No F-in Way is that happening, I suspect the dog doesn't even have a disease that will get better with surgery.
He demands his money back from the other place and they are angry at me (they actually did what the guy said he wanted, it just wasn't what I needed). Finally goes where I referred him, get the correct diagnosis of an unfixable problem. Then has a tantrum in my lobby because I will not come in at 8pm to euthanize his dog. F. You.
Then the next week, I see this little poodle mix for seizures and some other signs relatable to a problem in the brain. Young dog, it could be a congenital liver problem or a brain problem. I recommend liver function testing first and it that is normal a brain MRI and spinal tap second. The owner tells me she is coming to me for an MRI.
Ok, but you understand if your dog has a liver problem, she does not need an MRI? YES I AM AN EDUCATED WOMAN MY DOG NEEDS AN MRI. Ok, if your dog has an undiagnosed liver problem, she could have trouble with anesthesia, she could even die. I AM A LAWYER MY DOG NEEDS AN MRI DONT PATRONIZE ME.
Fast forward one day: MRI and spinal tap are negative. Liver function test abnormal. I guess my education in this type of things trumps hers....

One morning he hopped in my lap and I noticed he had a raw spot behind his ear. Now, having grown up on a farm, it looked a lot like he had scratched himself raw because of ear mites. Took him in to see the vet and he said "oh, I don't see any ear mites, it must be a rash" and gave me a rash medicine and an antibiotic. For 4-5 days I put the medicine on and forced the pills down his throat and endured him constantly hiding and running from me. No improvement, so I go back and he says it must be fungal and gives me an antifungal and makes me afraid of contagion. Still just hurts the poor boy and doesn't get better. After a couple of days of that I take him to another vet. "Oh, yeah that's ear mites, here wash them with this." Cleared right up.
I am sure you'd have gotten it right off the bat, but that vet lost not only to Dr Google, but also lost to Dr "I grew up on a farm". Having caused pain to my poor old boy for a week for no reason, I was pissed. That's a simple diagnosis to miss, twice.
In general I do try to not be "that guy", which is why I let the first vet talk me out of an ear mite diagnosis, twice.

I just got my lipid panel results back, and I want to throw a dance party right now.
CHL down 35 from last year, even better than my goal that I didn't think I'd reach for another year yet!
Woo hoo!
This is all with just diet/exercise. I want to be on a statin like a I want another hole in my head, TBH.

I just heard from the witch doctor and my iron is still low.
Should I ride more?

So yesterday I had this Chinese lady yelling at me in broken English, I'm still not sure what she was mad about.
Eventually I talked to her son, who spoke English perfectly. Nice guy. I mentioned that his Mom had berated me for 15 min and if I just wasn't her cup of tea, I could make some recommendations as to who else she could take her dog to. No hard feelings.
Not sure what he said to her but this morning she brought me a cake. And there was no yelling.
