You can also make your own goo from maltodexrin, pectin, and karo syrup.

It's pennies per ounce this way.

The Humangear Gotoob has been working really well for me - unobtrusive in a jersey pocket, easy to deploy on the bike at speed and the design doesn't lead to mess and stickiness.

Can gel can be frozen?
