Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ride Story

I was at this intersection, as pictured. The light just turned green and I was waiting for oncoming traffic to clear, so I could make a left turn.

A car comes flying down the hill and screeches around the turn as he heads right.

A few seconds later a state trooper appears with siren blazing. Hot pursuit!

Except he turns left.

The excitement passed, I turn left (the direction of the first car), and proceed on my jolly way.

About 20 seconds later the trooper passes me, proceeds a bit further and then does a U-turn.

That was that.

I guess someone got away with something or other?

My mint is going gangbusters. Basil too. Dill is maybe 2.5 feet tall!

Some of the basil I cut back a few weeks ago sprouted roots in the water I stuck it in. So I planted those sprigs yesterday, we’ll see if that goes anywhere.

TBH, I've noticed Vegans mentioned a few times and just thought it was an inside joke I didn't get.

30 wasn't bad. I hadn't broken anything yet.

Replant just before becoming rootbound into a 2 gallon pot. Use good potting soil, and top of the line fertilizer. Bat guano, worm castings, and fish oil type fertilizer is key. Not too much water, because they need to be stressed a bit. Of course, being in the pots, it keeps the dirt pretty warm.
