Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Custom Paint for my S-Works

Had it done a few months ago, but never posted. Amazing work and full factory warranty. Painted by Ron Jones. You can check out his instagram at @NotEnoughSwedes or Probikedesign.

Love the frame paint, not sure I would have gone for the red stem/seatpost. That cobbl gblr thing isn't exactly the most aesthetically pleasing part of the bike, so it would be better left black IMO.

I thought the red stood out quite easily. The harder part to see in pics is the sparkle in the black where the fade goes blue to black.

The paint is beautiful. The red bits, not so much.

It definitely stands out, I just hate the wedge shape under the saddle. Makes the bike look too "busy". IMO, obviously, and I know it improves your comfort.

I will always trade function over aesthetics. This bike I've ridden 3+ hrs many times. Being 52yrs old, comfort is important.

Sorry, other than the fact that I would have a good time replacing all the parts, tires, cages etc. There is nothing about that look that I like.

More power to ya.

Noice! The S Works sticker is a nice touch.

Hate the red sorry. It just does not go with the rest of the bike.

Really like the paint but have to agree with the others , the red bits don’t match. Black bits and tires with white tape would really bring the paint out.

The frameset paint is nice, but almost everything else makes me want to puke.

I don't mean to be blunt, but I hate the new Roubaix and I hate the paint job too. Oddly, the wacky paint job...kinda a ghetto version of Sagan's paint job, fits the horrid geometry of the Roubaix. I am a Roubaix owner btw, before they ruined the bike.

Sorry I can't be more positive. So have a laugh at my remarks and take it for what it is.

Just don't post it in the what is HOT thread.

Peter's stage winning Venge in this year's TdF above...

It's all good. I've said many times on here, it would be a very boring world if we all liked the same things. Variety is the spice of life.

I had the older Roubaix, and I found the zertz frame and fork to be pretty much worthless, especially compared to the FS setup they have now. I've been involved in at least 8 good auto wrecks including a few barrel rolls, and appreciate the FS and Gobbler seat quite a bit more than my old bike. That said I also have a new Venge for the shorter, more interval type days.

I'd bet Ron painted Sagan's bike, and would have liked the fade into black a little more than the grey above. The aqua blue is quite stunning in sunlight.

The funny thing is it's a not a ghetto version of Sagan's it most likely the same painter who does lots of bikes for the TDF tour riders.......I saw a bike that was painted for Levi Leipheimer for his GF and that's what I asked Ron to paint my bike.

The paint looks great but as others said the red parts need to be painted black. It totally distracts from the beautiful paint. Just look at Sagan’s bike - your eyes go to the paint. On your bike, my eyes go to the red and that’s all I see.
