Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

or you can go to the gym. Put on 315 on the bench bar. Do heel lifts with those. You will have humongolous calves.

heh, I DO make a quick judgement of the rider by the look of their calves, not the lycra. Roadies have the best calves by far of any other sport.

I got a comment recently from a guy I was playing golf with...was something like "Oh my god your calves are huge." I was like err thanks for noticing and he replied that "chicks love big defined calves. I have had mine forever...I think the overweight guy playing VB has something to do with it...you don't lift 220 lbs into the air with twigs. LOL

skinny legs means you probably climb faster b/c you have a good endurance sport build.

My calves aren't all that big either, but they are much more defined and SOLID as rock when flexed.

On the other hand, my quads have gotten HUGE! To the point where pants are feeling a little snug around the legs, but looser at the waist.

I've never had a compliment (except from my wife) about how I look until last week, when a woman I work with said;
"I saw you riding yesterday".
I said;
"Me?"
She said;
"Yes, I'd recognise those sexy legs anywhere".

64 and still pullin' chicks

Respect the calves.

About the jeans thing...Good lord! I agree. I went out to get a pair of jeans last week and let me tell you...getting this quad/calf combo in and out of most jeans is a hassle. I either find ones that are cut sooo big that they're just ridiculous. On the other end are the ones that show everyone in the vicinity my boys. I'm not sure I'm OK with that, although girls seem to enjoy show. They're such pigs! ha haha

What was the point of this thread? If one of you ladies out there starts off the pic frenzy...I'll oblige and reciprocate. Let's see some of those legs!!!!!!!

I was looking at myself in the mirror the other day and came to a strange scary soul shaking realization. My thighs look like they're the size of my waist. And that's when I knew, I had become a freak. Thanks a lot bikeforums.

I remember on one of the first rides I was on this summer I got some cat calls from a car full of girls. I was on my way, mashing out of the saddle up a really steep hill, and a car comes up behind me. I knew the car was behind me, but it didn't pass like I would have expected, and I was too busy pounding this hill to pay attention to it. I kept pedalling, and finally crested the hill, I turn and look behind me to see the car is still right behind me, and was there the whole climb. The car then pulled up beside me, and one of the girls leans out the window and was like "wooooo!!" and then they took off. A little while later up the same road they came back around the other way and did the same thing. I just gave them a little wave and kept on goin -- felt good though.

I always find that embarrassing and usually just smile and wave at them and hope they don't stop for a closer look....
