Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Valve extenders specifically for Vittoria latex tubes

Ok, maybe I'm stupid or something but I'm trying to use some Vittoria latex tubes on some deep C.F. wheels. These innertubes have a removable core so I figured no problem and ordered a set of valve extenders. But unless I'm an idiot the presta valve extenders don't work on these.

Has anyone found the right extender to do with these tubes specifically? I searched all day yesterday and just got conflicting information.

thanks!

If it's the older type you replace the whole stem with a longer (red) one. On these, the valve core is not removable from the stem.

Thankfully, they seem to be abandoning this design in favor of the normal, removable core, type.

I think it’s a problem because those stems are smooth and not threaded. Sad!

Yep, appears to be. Seems like in today's world of deep wheels though Vittoria would want to play and have a solution for us. I couldn't even find a 60mm latex tube listed for them which seems odd. I love using these but may not have an option to this time.

I don't see why that's an issue- the extenders thread in where the valve core goes and they themselves are not threaded on the shaft.

The old style that is a tube going over the valve core also threads on to that & not the shaft.

The Amazon listing shows "frequently bought together" tubes & extensions....
