Why is Rapha so divisive?

I think it's weird anybody would worry that fat people will stop eating iced cream because of something they read on a water bottle.

If I can be permitted to go off-subject in this oh-so-serious thread...
Shortly after reading this comment, I was driving and had someone just in front of me commit one of my pet peeves - a great big, dumb, widening of their turn. Like, to the point where their wheels are out of their lane on one side to make a turn in the other direction. You see it pretty often with SUVs (I guess they roll a bit much and people can't be bothered to slow down enough to make a proper turn?), but this was with a Prius. A friggin' Prius. Dude just about swiped parked cars on the right while widening to take his left.
HOLD YOUR LINE! There needs to be a "We're going toyell honk at you" thread on CarForums.net.

anyone want red vines or raisinets?
liking the new rapha core lightweight jersey about as much as some of their older, more expensive lightweight/flyweight jerseys.
it doesn't have a "valuables" zippered pocket but i will purchase another one probably in the fall when things finally get restocked
in a size large.

And I will say Prii wallow. That rear suspension is heavily compromised to fit the batteries, and it's a soft pig. That said, it's no worse than the GX, and can certainly be driven properly if the driver is competent.

What's so weird about it? And yes, I suppose it could among a certain audience. If you know much about eating disorders, that shouldn't surprise you. But the point is that it was, in my opinion, a reasonable criticism for someone to make. You can disagree with it, but it's not crazy.
Someone used "put me back on my bike" as a quote. That quote is directly associated with tragedy and i can see how using that on a bottle would be in poor taste. But this? This is an example of the sort of stuff elite athletes do, in order to be elite. Pro cyclists do a lot of crazy stuff to reach race weight - eg, eat apple peels as a snack. MMA fighters do even more insane stuff to make weight cuts.
The connection between what Pantani did and eating disorders is extremely tenuous except in the most banal/shallowest of ways. Just because some easily-offended halfwit is unable to parse the distinction between a nod to the extreme dedication of the elite and the more mundane concerns of the non-elite does not make it the rest of the world's problem.
People are entitled to respect and support for the issues they are facing - what they are NOT entitled to is for the rest of the world to start tip-toeing around in order to avoid doing something that even remotely at anything that they might find bothersome.

I'll tell you where they are NOT - not in Asia, that's for sure. At 180lb, i am atleast 20lb heavier than most guys i race with, and typically 35-40lb.
I find this offensive and discriminatory towards Fatsos and by having more jerseys in smaller sizes and fewer in larger sizes (confession - after this thread, i went to buy a Core jersey too, but the one i wanted was sold out too), Rapha is contributing towards this unfairness. Cut their heads off!

Where the hell are all these guys at the hilly races?

Track cycling sounds too much like riding a trainer. I ride to go someplace, and I like the rate at which the scenery changes outdoors. But that's just me.
