Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So now I have to send in that form and will probably wait another 6-8 weeks in order to access the account.

SMH.
If you'd grown up a Boomer, you'd be used to that sort of wait. When we were kids, everything you wanted in the world could be had for 6 box tops, which you'd send off "and wait 6-8 weeks for delivery!"

Got a hell of a quote on the brontrager pro 37 V thermoplastics. Wife said go for it but it’s more than I want to spend. I think I am gunna go with the hunt limitless.

While in Lancaster, 2 of the 3 Open Hice we visited were hosted by the same realtor, who was a nice young guy who was friendly and informative about the market, cost of renovations, etc. I looked him up, thinking maybe it would be good to have a local buyer's agent lined up. In his bio, under his pastimes - "Cycling". I don't know if he's a Lycra-Wearing Tour de France Wannabe, like me, but it gave me a good feeling.

I think I'm good to go to at least ride indoors tomorrow. RHR is back into the 40s.

Of course, now Mrs. GJ seems to have come down with it, poor dear.

I heard about the Revel wheels in 2020. I guess their bike frames are recyclable, too. If it actually works, that is.

Didn't GT do thermoplastic frames for a couple years?

Ha, it's right there in the article. I never read links before posting though.

Apparently they did thermoplastic BMX frames (front triangles) too.

OMG check out the 20" deep dish HEDs!!!!!

Had a nice ride in the lowlands today. Every time I hit the Verde Valley I think I'm gonna have a Maynard sighting but it never happens. He must be too busy stomping on grapes or whatnot.

Man I am computer ignorant. Daughter has leap frog thing and we bought her some add ons to help her with reading. We didn’t realize that in order for it to work we would have to plug it into a computer to download stuff. I havnt turned on my laptop in prolly 3 years. So, I turned it on logged on and three hours later it was still sitting on the main screen. Nothing I clicked on would do anything. It wasn’t frozen just sat there. I looked up best buy and they had a bunch of notebooks for sale so I went and bought one. Brought it home worked fantastic but it was a chrome book and her thingy requires windows so I had to take that back and get another one. The new one is some HP thing, it cost more but man it just seems like a POS compared to the other one.

No way will there be thermoplastic rim brake whee, as the heat could melt the riml. Not that anyone will care about rim braking.

I got a globe by sending in cereal box tops when I was a ute. Don't remember how long the wait was.

These days it shouldn't take 6-8 weeks to process a very simple form.

What's worse, my wait would already have concluded if they had included a necessarily caveat in their instructions back in August.

I think Tool is for sure my favorite "hard rock" band. Lateralus was peak for me. Previous couple albums very good also. Never got into "Opiate".

Also, forgot he has a winery out there. What a trip, maybe I'll visit someday. Seems hot out there for wine grapes, unless it's in the mountains or something

One of the fancy TPU tubes I bought a couple months ago is now flat (the rear). Hopefully it's not one of the stem failures, ill be mad. If it was circumstantial (like staple in the tire), I'll buy another one I think.

I've made some upgrades to my daily driver (2022 TCR Pro) that have lightened it up yet. Combined w slightly lower body weight , I feel quite spry on the bike these days, which feels good.
