Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I’m doing woodworking, and mowing today. The wife is celebrating though. Save me a piece of apple pie.

"TT Bike Thursdays" but outdoor version. Typically I'll ride for 30' and 15' at high z2 and z3, respectively, for a light day. Today I kicked that up a notch for each one.

Cut the second one a few minutes short, too windy and too much activity. Had to leave aero a few times so I could "square off" and cover the brakes. Tourists, man.

TBH it was pretty fatiguing to my upper body compared to the trainer, riding these things out in the wild is hard! Glad I got some real world practice in. I might race our local TT series a couple times next year.

I feel so fat. We hosted as per the usual, so we had 15 pound turkey, a whole ham all the sides, Italian Father In Law brought this amazing pasta dish, don’t even know what it was, Italian Bro in Law brought a cheese board that was so long it required 2 people. Don’t even get me started on desert. I feel fat.

Yes. As opposed to me. I celebrate Groundhog Day. From my farming days. It's the only one that has any meaning. To me. I'll just stop there.

We survived the Tour de NJ. Back home safe and sound. I am off tomorrow, so the plan is a ride to be followed by meeting some friends from DC at a sorta-halfway place in Chestertown MD.

Turkey, ham, mashed taters, gravy, stuffing, shrooms, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes (I carefully extracted them from under the marshmallows), Claris-level vino, punkin pie and Folgers here.

I wish I'd hit the Total Wino for some 105-level or better vino.

Poor Seahawks are struggling

Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, stuffing, crescent rolls, apple pie, pecan pie and coffee to wash it down. Napping ensued.

There are 88 cities in Los Angeles county plus the unincorporated areas. Over 10 million people in the county, just under 4 million in L.A. city.

134 municipalities in Cook County. And it's 1/4 the area!

Not weighing myself until we're back from the Texas trip. Too much randomness in the diet.
