Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The worst place I lived in was just after finishing university. It had no insulation and no fixed heating. A oil column heater in a lounge doesn't cut it. The inside of the windows would ice up in winter.

no, I've been battling this abdominal pain issue since April 2022. It turns out my gallbladder was going teets up. Abnormal ejection fraction or some such thing. It was done Laparoscopically(sp?) With 4 incisions. Naval, right below sternum right on gallbladder and at waist below the gallbladder. They put in stitches internally around navel to avoid possible hernia. That is where it hurt the most and what was most bruised. It has some bruising remaining but is mostly gone.

No disc replacement until I get my bone density back to normal. That revelation put the kibosh on surgery in March. That's when I said "eff it" I'm going to try and ride and see what the Pregabalin can do to manage the pain.

It's been hell since August 1, 2020.

In summary here is my story. i also had some rapid heartbeat episode (related to A Fib) and fainted before work and nearly fainted 2 more times before i decided to have my wife take me in to get my laptop and work from home. Cardiologist told me not to drive for a month and wear a monitor. It showed nothing of course and 6 weeks after that day I began driving.

Who knows about the concussion but check on the broken helmet the same way. Hematoma on the hip too. That was annoying.

Since I'm spilling tonight, I'll tell you about my uncle who had his leg amputated the day after Thanksgiving. He had a muscle tear in his quad a year or so ago then after they reattached it, it tore again. Then the wound wouldn't heal and got infected. That really sucks . He's in his late 70's and has a good attitude which is helpful.

Then on December 5th my mom's brother had a heart attack and was found in his recliner. He would have been 80 in April. He had been dealing with kidney failure for a few years and was alone after his wife died 6 or 7 years ago. His house was as neat as a pin like he knew it was coming. He was a rock star uncle when I was a kid. He raced a 6 cylinder corvette on dirt tracks in the early 60s and had a new '67 camaro rag top. About 10 years ago he got an old junky dirt track car and raced in northwest PA. He dismantled the power steering so he would get a little more horsepower. He was only 5 ft 6 but he battled and at about 70 years old could at least beat a few others and not finish DFL. Still is a rock star in my eyes.

I'm really glad I took my mom up to see him 2 years ago when I was up north. It was the last we saw him. It was a nice visit.

That's all I've got to say about that.

The dealer is in @phrantic09 's neighborhood. 125 miles from the rjones28 garage, so it's already covered in Central New York crud.
