Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

As opposed to cats wandering the neighborhood to their hearts content, killing every songbird in sight?

Fireworks here last night. Big ones. At least they stopped before too late. Extremely loud rap today for a coupe hours. Coming from 2 doors away and not quite live band loud, but live DJ loud.
Did some yard work, some laundry, and some bike maintenance. Got the Mrs to give me a haircut. A nap may be imminent. Should be nice weather for a ride tomorrow.

I'm only 5 boring minutes away from nap at any time. Said another way, a nap is always imminent.

Prime rib in the oven under the watchful eye of TOB. Ham on the counter warming up to RT. Stuffing coming together under the watchful eye of TYB.

Rango got his Christmas day walk. Mrs. GJ currently providing same for Dory.

About to put out cheese and crackers and salumi for Happy Hour. Mrs. GJ may have stopped off at Dory's friend Pepper's house and started getting happy ahead of time.

I was feeling much in need of a nap, then I discovered that there was still some coffee in the thermal carafe. It was still drinkable temp! It's a Festivus miracle!

I almost stopped watching that show because of my distaste for that character. She slowly grew on me.

Oh my, I guess I've been missing out by watching Yellowstone on regular TV. The ol' drinkin' champagne in the water trough scene is a little spicier in its original form.

When did this become a thing? Fireworks way too often now. I guess I was spoiled by living in the canyon for 16 years. Never fireworks up there. No live bands either.

I heard a handful over the last few nights, but nothing compared to other holidays.
