Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I got lightly spritzed on Sand Hill between Whiskey Hill and Portola, and then a little more along Portola and 84, but it stopped before I got to Tripp, and that was all of it.

Rained here last night, enough that I could hear it at times. This morning it was dark and cloudy but did not rain. Took the mtb and rode around the dam basin and up a canyon. Managed to avoid most of the mud and the sand is better when it's a little wet. Did 3 water crossings and there was a family hiking and I thought I might fall into the water right in front of them but I made it through without looking like a dufus.

Seems like most of the time the weather reports over estimate the rain.

Except when they don't, like New Years Eve last year (2022/23), when the intensity of the rain here surprised the hell out of everyone.

Slow night. Everyone must be watching the Sousa season opener, if they missed it earlier.

Been asleep since Noon, Arizona time. They don’t follow the time rules here so I never know what zone I am in. Anyways, what did I miss?
