Yeah, but rap ain't what it used to be. Heck, even Public Enemy sucks the big one now. I despair for African-American music these days. They're even more mysogynistic and materialist than the fat white rich guys they despise. They're a joke.

And don't get me started on the whole *bleeping* out of the word N¡gger, either

"Now I ain't saying she a Gold-digger, but she ain't messing with no broke N¡ggers."

Anyone offended? A black man uses an ancient derogatory term. Boo-hoo. Want to disempower a word? Don't get offeneded at it!!! Use it regularly ya honkey crackers!

:)

*waits patiently for the Thought-Poli....I mean Moderators to slap my wrist*

never been to Festival Hall.

Been to Corner hotel about 50 times to see Underground Lovers, Gaslight Radio, Glide, MAchine Translations and a host of international acts. The Punters Club used to be the bees knees, til they could not aford the new lease. :(

Was a life moment for me....

Seen Nick Cave at Festering Hall twice. The venue sort of suits the mood of the music! :)

Don't be too ashamed of Billy Idol, 531. After all, it was 1987 so he would have been at the height of his snarl. Actually heard a wicked cover of Rebel Yell on PBS the other night. Some punk band covered it & it worked well.

you can lock that in, Eddie.

thunder 03-23-06 11:24 PM

how about we meet up on the top of the shrine, on the roof, get a good view from their,

Ed, as senior roadie you can bring two slabs of carlton tinnies, and we can throw them at the Saffas each lap from the top of the Shrine, or we can toss them at the Brits and the NZ'ers kind of a poetic irony about our Anzac sitting status. Lindsay Fox can bring the helicopeter so drop us on top of the Shrine.

Cool.

Yup. :)

[Edit] Oh you mean attempt to procreate with her? Well no. Only because I was about half a km away from her and she looked like an ant with pointy cones on its t!ts from where I was at. It was back in the days where she'd root anything so I was probably half a chance if I could get close. :)

Just waiting for ed to come in and say he did 50 different ways. :p

Yeah, I am. We're going down to see the race, but I've already organised it with non-cyclist friends and I'm not sure they'd be cool with meeting a bunch of Netfriends™. Not they they're unfriendly, it just might be....weird.

"Hi this is *pause*.....thunder, and um.....oh, that's Neville, I've met him before.....er......."

I'd be up for another social ride sometime though, no probs, although I have to warn you, I am a crash magnet. I'm 2'fer 2 after my last two social road outings. Last one landed me in hospital.

Hint for the day - Chainrings are sharp. And greasy.

thunder 03-23-06 11:31 PM

thanks Thyc, now you make us all feel like we are a kinky group of swingers who will go and off our wives by strangulation in the boot of our cars

The chick who was the mistress in that case, she was a roadie from up in the Murray region

Ok, everyone who wants a rally point, since no one else will post it,

Main Tan, gate top of Anderson St, About 50m before the roundabout on Domain Rd they go around.

Second lap, just after they go around. That makes it between about 1.30 and 1.45.

Long black raincoats preferred.

Then we all stand around and feel stupid having nothing to talk about in a groupd of strangers. :D

Reply if you will be there, so no one looks stupid asking genuine non-net strangers, err are you 531, thinking we are spooks for ASIO on the lookout for Muslim terrorists with suicided bombs strapped to the bottom bracket of their Treks.

Wilchemy 03-23-06 11:46 PM

LOL @ Thylo. At least it's a bike forum and not a teen chat room :p Athough sometimes the types of discussions could probably be found in one :D

And thunder, I think the choker mistress was actually a triathlete - which is of course completely different.

classic1 03-23-06 11:46 PM

I'll be there at the race - I'm hitching a ride with my mummy and daddy :) , and possibly will have my little boy with me, so I'll probably give the bikeforums TAT love in a miss.

You could tell by the sluggos she was wearing.

that's nothin'!!!

I was dragged to ABBA by my family in '77, and dragged by my little sister to George Michael in '84.

classic1 03-23-06 11:58 PM

Baw Baw Classic on April 1. It's only just up the road from my joint. I might go and check that out for a giggle (or guffaw) as well.

Good effort thunder. I'm not sure if I'll be at the race by that time (have a 3yr old birthday to attend beforehand - yahoo! ) but if I do make it in time I'll drop past the Anderson St gate. Could possibly be on a Merida MTB too.

I'd be up for something along those lines - except for the crash part!
