Gotta have satellite here if you want to watch rugby live (pretty much any sport)

Luckily we need satellite to get any TV as our VHF and UHF reception is near zero :D

jock 05-19-06 03:33 AM

Thanks for the revised and unwelcome scoreline vette.

62vette 05-19-06 03:33 AM

Only problem watching Sky Sport rugby coverage is the commentary from Mr verbal diarrhoea Murray Mexted. Tonight he described one of the players giving a "hand job" and even that line made Murray stop for a second before continuing.

He's a classic :p

yeah, but the weight weenies on the forum have been going on and on and on and on and on about light bikes, light wheels and low peripheral rotationing mass for for acceleration, etc, etc, then we find out the elite riders are riding big clunkers!! :)

jock 05-19-06 04:02 AM

Real bike riders don't listen to weight ******s

Real bike riders ride bikes that are suitable for them. If that puts them in the 7kg class then so be it, maybe Michael Rassmussen can get away with that. But shove someone like Cookie on something like that and it'll probably end up in tears.

Odin 05-19-06 05:24 AM

Yep Cookie needs something more substantial.... like perhaps an OCR1 :D ...I put the ol' thing up on the bay tonight. Anyone got his number? ;)

The reason you couldn't find it is that it's not a fourcc codec. There's a vanguard software solutions product but it's not free: http://www.vsofts.com/h264/downloads.html

There does not appear to be a free consumer decoder for H.264 except for one open source project that has to be built under C++

pshaw 05-19-06 06:06 PM

Back on injuries, I drove to hospital to get a cast removed from my arm (dislocated elbow).
The wing felt so good I reckoned I could have straightened my arm and snapped the cast off.

Anyway, they cut it off, I went white and nearly hit the deck, walked outside with my feeble arm in a sling and no idea how I was gonna drive home...LOL.

H.264 can be played by Quicktime. Or try VLC media player it seems to do everything. or download the klite media codec pack if you dont want another player

jock 05-19-06 08:37 PM

VLC is good jimmy

There's still a couple of formats that just won't play on my Macs, but yeah, H.264 is great in Quicktime.

Doesn't video compression suck though. I wasted so much time trying to find Codecs and trying to play ****ing stupid Windows native files its not even funny

mrkott3r 05-19-06 10:22 PM

Mate as long as I can play Xvid, DivX and H.264 I couldnt care about what doesnt play.

Thylacine 05-19-06 11:09 PM

Unless you just spent 4 hours DLing it and it won't play

berny 05-20-06 01:14 AM

I downloaded Codecs630_allin1 and it didn't help. Any of you able to open/play the vid in my post?
Of course you can't because I didn't tell you to scroll down to; 'Formula 14 cats in Australia'
The link again;

Odin 05-20-06 01:20 AM

Odin 05-20-06 01:47 AM

Yeah big file!
That F14 is the fastest 14ft cat in the world....... except for mine. :D
I guess you need to like sailing :o What prog. did it run on for you?

How's the new bike?

Odin 05-20-06 01:58 AM

I downloaded that VLC one Gabe & jock were on about from here
Worked like a charm.
Haven't got the new bike yet (next week sometime), just put the old one on eBay last night.
Yeah, I've never sailed so I wouldn't know one from the other.

berny 05-20-06 02:19 AM

Yep, that works. Made more sence to me the way you said it :) I have the DVD. I thought it might be something different. Pretty full-on sport. Great fun. I just fitted a spinnaker to my 14 and I'm planning on sailing tomorrow to sort the thing out. Can't wait. :D

I think if your not in there as a junior, competing at an international level you don't really have much chance. I finished school in 88 or 89 and went straight to the USA to do sport, I was 16 the first trip overseas. Kept going OS until I was 24 or so, good fun, good way to see the world, just not much future for "pro sport guy that never quite made it", earning enough money to just keep going got boring after a few years.

Did you go over to race BMX?

jock 05-20-06 04:40 AM

Good game of footy on at the moment. Swans up after doggies ran their lead down early in the second qtr. Both teams playing cracker games in slippery conditions

HDTVKSS 05-20-06 06:23 AM

so how was the racing up at calga today? tomorrow im racing out at arcadia XC, which is probably the most technical ( and IMHO farkin dangerous in some parts) XC course in the state. should be fun :D

jock 05-20-06 06:55 AM

Hey while we're all choking on coal-fired power station pollutants, lets get all frisky about nuclear power. Wow, I'm excited. Harrisburg, Chernobyl, Nagasaki, Hiroshima.

Will we ever get rid of this totalitarian fuhrer who's only supreme abilities are in the arts of lying and deception? Luckily for us his understudy is worse

HDTVKSS 05-20-06 07:08 AM

not that purchasing nuclear power would have anything to do with providing US coproration millions of aus dollars to build such plants would it ;)

mrkott3r 05-20-06 09:04 PM

lets face facts in the next few weeks Johnny will do his (in)famous backflip and we will have Nuclear power. I hate but we are stuck with it.

Read in the SMH that the mining industry had a hand in scuttling the wind farm in Vic that was rejected because of the endangered bird.
Face it we are screwed.
