Are you using IE? Voted by PCWorld magazine one of the top ten worst bits of software ever created....

"Full of features, easy to use, and a virtual engraved invitation to hackers and other digital delinquents, Internet Explorer 6.x might be the least secure software on the planet. How insecure? In June 2004, the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) took the unusual step of urging PC users to use a browser--any browser--other than IE."

Thanks pshaw, I'll forgive ya just this once. ;)

Got a handful of local enquiries today. Never know, I might actually sell some bikes in Australia if this keeps up. Then you can start calling me "Our Tigger"!

Jeez, that was quick, I was describing that frame you posted on Friday with the nice drop-outs to a few mates on the weekend... didnt think they would rustle up the $ that quick:D

FWIW, isnt Bas de Beaver or whatever you call that downhill racer running an internal frame mounted gearbox?

Seen this? http://www.nicolai-uk.com/

have you tried clearing your I.e cache files? tools -> internet options -> delete files ? also somtimes deleting cookies will do the trick but you will need to re enter cached passwords for email etc...

i know that Greg Minnar runs a honda DH MTB with an internal gearbox, but that sits mid ships, is hiddeously expensive and not availaible to the general public.

A rholoff is in the hub, so its a different beast alltogeather.

English, please?:p

Nah, thanks; I'll have a crack at it

Thylacine 05-28-06 10:33 PM

Or you could just use Firefox.

Yeah, I've been following the G-Boxx crap. I'm just not sure of where it's going, or whether it's designed to go anywhere except provide some legitimacy to Nicolai. I think Magura or Hayes or someone also bought some rights to a gearbox design, this time utilising a derailleur system housed in a housing around the cranks. Much less weight penalty than the G-Boxx/Rohloff.

Lord knows where any of this is going other than as something for Dave Weigle and Karl Nicolai to do on the weekend.

Yayy! just got home with the new bike.
Boo!! have to look after the offspring so I can't go fer a ride.

Got out to my van this morning and found the fuel flap reefed open and the cap gone. Bastards! I reckon there'll be plenty more of this sort of **** with the high petrol prices. I'm putting razor blades on the cap tabs.

oh, and +1 Oz, give Firefox a go.

I decided about 3 months ago that I'm going to compete in the Nossa Triathlon in October(came about cause I'm a 40 something who was too fat and needed a goal). Anyhow, my bike training has been pretty much on my own cause I can't draft in the event so last week a I put a set of cheapo tri bars on my bike and went for an 85K ride on Saturday. I was surprised how much faster I rode when I was 'assuming the position'.

Now I know that REAL riders don't use tri bars, but does anyone here use them? If they are this good, why don't the pro's use them in road races, or is this taboo?

climbo 05-29-06 12:27 AM

they are banned from competition as the riders ability to ocntol a bike in a peleton is prety much reduced to 0 when in the bars

AAAAAAAGGHHHHHH. No wattsy, don't do it !!!

Anyway, tri bars are dangerous in a pack environment, that's why they are not used. But yes, they make you much more aero if you can "assume the position" for enough time.

You know things are getting tough when the owners of hybrids start resorting to theft :D

.

oh, I forgot to tell you one of my theories. I reckon a lot of lateral flex comes from the forks, but most people don't realize it. I almost transformed my Cervelo by putting a stiffer fork on it.

could've saved ya a few grand...oh well :p

Sorry climbo, I'm a fat old b*st*rd and need to drop the Kg's. Some of the blokes at work run and swim at lunch which means I don't have to wake up early to ride more often.

If I see someone on Beach Rd with tri bars and an SBR tank-top, they are TOAST!! Nobody in a tank top is allowed near me :p
