Aussie ..... oi!

I pick up my new (second hand) roadie next week. 06 DBR Podium Pro plastic fantastic with Ultegra. Good deal on trademe.co.nz with money left over from the insurance claim for some better forks on my MTB. Amazingly I managed to research and make a purchasing decision without starting any threads on bikeforums - Should I buy the red bike or the blue bike?; Will I climb faster on carbon or steel? Should I spend $3,000 to save 25g? Does my bum look big in this?

In the meantime I'm riding a mates old steel Lemond roadie with 9sp campy, one size too small, but I don't have to miss any club races.

Yes...yes...yes....and..............yes.

yeah, sort of, like Bartko won a 2.6 at tour of Poland prologue in 2001ish, in about 2002, Wiggins won the notoriously soft prolouge of Tour de l'Avenir.

Go Millar...anyone else like to see him win? or as an aside...care to pass comment on how Virenque was (re)-accepted and that part of his career gets overlooked by most?

bbw 06-22-06 07:06 PM

i think I'd rather see Lanceyboy win.

and I don't want to see that. why are people so gentle on Millar? 'Oh the poor puppy' wtf? Cheated. Busted. Fullstop.

.

Go Rogers, although it's too short for him. Still, I'll support Rogers over Millar any day

I think it comes from open admission of guilt?
Cheated = yes
Busted = yes
BANNED = yes (and rightly so!)
Gentle = Im not sure, 2 year ban, hammered in the press...? Hence the Q regarding old golden bagette Virenque?

As for Rogers, I agree I'd like to see him do something (at a tour)but not sure about his latest team move...?

bbw 06-22-06 07:41 PM

Open admission after they found the shtuff in his house:rolleyes: Oh well at least he didn't say it was his mums. Did he really cop a shellacing in the press? I don't remember a huge to do, and the last six months it seems like his return's being feted as if he's some role model, rather than a cheat. Must have a good marketing team.

On Tmobile, despite it sucking the life of plenty of hopefuls, I do believe there's good things to be learnt there, he can do worse than learn at the shoulder of the only racing TdF winner; and the timing for Rogers there may still turn out alright for him, particularly if Ulle fails to win the TdF again and retires. And Walt(getuponthe)Goodfoot seems to be such a bangup guy and all:D

Anyway enough of this world sport malarkey. Lets talk about matters of really significant importenance. What do YOU think Our Nicole's wedding dress is going to look like?

climbo 06-22-06 07:42 PM

HDT - i will be at Calga if I can get my daughter looked after, 50/50 at this stage.

62vette 06-22-06 07:45 PM

More importantly do you think our Keith will shave for the wedding?

pshaw 06-22-06 07:49 PM

No Calga for me, mate just arrived from Holland and wants some help buying a car :(
oh well, gonna ride to kulnura from palmdale on sunday...should be a fun climb at the start....

Damn Jock...I've got a 4 year old that we've been stalling with injections cause she's gunna pull the surgery down. Did you need a stiff drink before the event?

Wilchemy 06-23-06 01:33 AM

Nah wattsy, just dose her up on Kiddies Panadol prior to the the event. It takes the edge off the pain of the needle & so reduces the noise (& stress) levels.
