Don't want to dampen your enthoosiasm but i picked up a new set of 105 brakes and a new bb from a curb side throw out, right place at the right time with the right tools.

Haven't done it, but here an excerpt from the peleton sports forum:

"if you do the Coluzzi-Waterfall ride on Saturday and find yourself "riding solo" in the bunch for more than a minute, then you will be told in no uncertain times where to go ([edit] ie. go to the back of the group[/edit]. While I do not condone this rudeness, the effect is that the bunch rides in two very neat lines (except for the "race" between Waterfall and Sutherland) and averages 38-40kph for 80km every Saturday."

...and now I'm home and dry.

was_bmxer 11-14-05 10:26 PM

yeah that sounds about right. usually just get "moved" out of the way. Not uncommon to hit around 75k's on the mad mile just before sutherland. If ever you feel like doing it, let us know.

I don't even need the phone for that. Just ride too close to Jock. My top speed one day was 67Km/h. Sadly, I died that day - my HRM dropped to zero.

On a similar note, going down Newcastle Road at 50+, the peak on my helmet nearly tears my head off from the wind shear.

Jock's zillion dollar computer put out a bit of interference. Oh, that 50+ was on my MTB with full knobbies. I have the nerd strap for my glasses, thank you.

jock 11-15-05 02:15 PM

My zillion dollar computer is ded. I now have a more suitably priced computer. It is only half-ded

Murphy's Law dictates that my US$25 wireless computer/HRM will last forever.

Foxtel bought it. Then the Howard Government stepped in because someone had posted the word "Terrorist" in it. Someone else mentioned they were buying a new bike, so the ATO and Centrelink shut the whole thing down. Or something like that.

was_bmxer 11-15-05 04:17 PM

you didn't mention the Union & the IR reform. Couldn't have been that serious.

was_bmxer 11-15-05 04:20 PM

what did happen to the thread, was funny reading. Will it ever come back?

jock 11-15-05 04:21 PM

Well lads, it looks like it's bye from me. The thought police at werk have decided to block access on the main proxies, so I guess it's only a small matter of time before it's blocked on all the pipes out.

I couldn't be arsed paying for my own internet connection, or setting up an account that bypasses the proxies, so I guess I'll just have to dedicate my efforts to something else worthwhile. Like training....

Have fun

Brian 11-15-05 04:37 PM

Jock who?

My boss said yesterday he's going to take away my internet access. Not a big worry, as I don't actually have any. :D
