How could you miss a cr*p beer like that? :D

My wife calls it Vomit Breath.

But there's nothing wrong with missing crap things from time to time. I miss the real Reschs Pilsener. It too was a pretty gawdy excuse for a beer but they changed the recipe twice and made it worse each time !!! :roflmao: At least a few pubs still stock Reschs DA. A nice crisp summers evening beer (or breakfast if you prefer)

I had a Carlton Dry the other night. Not too bad. That's like 4 beers this year now.

jock 12-04-05 09:31 PM

Expa, how come HobartDave has a * in his cr*p and I don't? Isn't my cr*p worthy of a *?

Because he thinks crap is a banned word. It's not. You can also have chicken breast for dinner, ride with your friend Dick, and have a phone with an inbuilt vibrator. Even ass is an acceptable word. But please don't use them in inappropriate context.

jock 12-04-05 09:35 PM

I learnt summint on the weekend: don't annoy Brett McGinty.

One our noblest riders held his ground, putting Brett into the grass. Nobody thought anything of it, except Brett who was a tad miffed (insert heated debate here).

In the wheelrace final he went past me like I was going backwards and I was doing est. 45kph. And still with 2 laps to go!!! Didn't even bother trying to latch onto the train. Apparrently he was still a bit edgy. :o

Since when has the Aussie Thread ever had a context of any shape of form? We don't even complain about the MTBer's contibuting in a road thread. I shouldn't complain seeing as how I;m now polluting it with track cr@p.

It's the straw. Or maybe it's a coffee stirrer. By the way, my move date is getting closer, so I hope we'll get in one more ride before I go.

As a moderator, it seems like we have to take a look every day. I have no further comment.

RiotBoi 12-05-05 02:04 PM

I happen to like VB. tastes better then Vegemite, which oddly enough they have in healthfood stores here in hawaii

PaulBravey 12-05-05 02:17 PM

Anything tastes better than Vegemite, Marmite is far superior.

62vette 12-05-05 02:24 PM

I would rate Vegemite as better than tripe and onions, but you are right that Marmite is superior.

VB is OK for quenching a thirst on a hot day, but if you want to enjoy a beer go for Coopers Sparkling Ale. The finest nectar produced in Australia.

Wasn't too hot, nice southerly had rolled through by 4:00pm. Friggin flies were out in force tho. Didn't need dinner due to the amount of 'protein-on-the-wing' that I swallowed.

Good turnout but noone seemed to be particularly switched on for it.

62vette 12-05-05 05:23 PM

OK, someone wait till a price gets posted, then tell this bloke "he's dreamin'"

speaking of old bikes, commuting this morning and a guy came out of a side road/bike trail thingy infront of me on the worlds oldest MTB with what looked like 40 mil forks and purple annodised brakes, squewers etc, old skool bling!

Thylacine 12-05-05 06:47 PM

Don't laugh, you should see how much cash bikes like old school Yetis go for on ebay.

Personally, I'd kill for an early 90's Yeti FRO in turquoise with purple annodised bits.

Call me weird :)

Speaking of which....wow.....that thread of my58vw's is pretty intense stuff. Not sure why s/he would want to post that kind of info on the internet - especially in a bike forum - but I hope s/he finds the support s/he needs. I know for sure that the 'Net has made finding kindred spirits a heck of a lot more easy. (Not to mention finding customers!).

On the beer front, I found the worlds greatest bottle'o last Monday. Up in Sassafras up in the Dandenongs there's a general store that doubles as the world's best repository of beer products - I sh¡t you not. They had beer I'd never even seen before, even in shops in town.

Current fave - Hargreaves Hill Pale Ale http://www.cloudwine.com.au/images/hargreaves.jpg
